Well, I won't lie. I wold LIKE to believe in God(and for a time I did) but I just don't anymore. I never believed in Jesus. Not alot of people know that, and that is because ALL my friends go to church. One of my friends actually told me that if I don't go to church, then I'm going to Hell lol. As for the whole "gay marrage" thing, I could argue for hours. Why should people believe they're freaks because they're different? Why shouln't they marry who they want to? People can be so closed minded. And once there is something different out there, and someone objects to it, then alot of people object.
Apparently there's a whole debate about whether the Bible actually says that it's a sin to be homosexual. Personally, I consider myself Christian, but I believe in things like evolution and homosexuals' rights.

If only more people saw things the way you do death sparx. It seems that if people don't have control, or change occurs, they go crazy! I mean, just because your friend is gay, doesn't mean suddenly you'll start liking the same sex. As for religion, people are so ready to go to Heaven, that they don't realize that their life is Heaven. Heaven is the time you spend with loved ones and friends. Those treasured moments. So if I go to Hell, I'll make it, because I have an entire life time of Heaven.(though I don't believe in Hell.)
ya agreed. our life on this planet is heaven. all the glory is in this life not the so called after life. also every single person on this planet has "sinned" we are human we make mistakes. as for the gay issue someone didnt like a gay person so i think it was just thrown in there to, as i said before take control. i know lots of gay people and i still like women lol. i have nothing against them, if they want to get married go for it they have the same rights we do to love. i dont know were we get this stuff from. as a human i find if i dont understand something i try and understand it better. there are alot more people who think like i do actually. they believe in science and proof and there is some good evidence out there

When you think about it it really has nothing to do with the bible. Its just that christians are 'grosed out' by gays. Consider this...
According to the bible, gay people are going to hell... but then so are buddhists. Buddhists are allowed to marry.
Faith is beautiful. As an athiest I wish I had faith in god. Religion however is the uglier flipside to faith. Thats where man tries to make himself the middleman for tickets to heaven.
NM
thats very true as well. in one form of religion for something that is a sin is alright in some other religion and you gave a perfect example. i could do faith. i believe in the spirit of the earth because it is alive as most of us know. it heals itself it gets hurt. god on the other hand i cant believe in some invisible guy that created everything. its like the adam and eve theory, i never understood how that worked when science has proved that we did in fact evolve from monkeys. they have 24 cromozone pairs and we have 23 right? 2 of thier genes merged into 1 of ours. thier 13th is our 2nd if i remember correctly. if your interested in learning more about relgion then check out Zeitgeist. the first 5-10 minutes is comedy but the rest of it is amazing info on how relgion is actually based on the stars etc. it has 3 parts and religion is part one

if you read the book of lists by russ kick it states that there is actually over 30 different versions of the bible. they kept on making family friendly versions. the true bibles had death etc in them. the bible also has little paragraphs telling to kill and rape and plunder. im not sure which version its in though. thats good cause there are hard core people out there who live by the bible etc. my best friends dad tried for a year to convert me and said he raised his daughter by religion. the ironic part is she hates religion and is more of an athiest then me

Hm, I know there were many different versions of the Bible, but I've never heard about that before. Something to think about.

god commands slaughter and rape
[moses says:] now kill all the boys. and kill every women who has slept with a man, but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.[numbers31:17-18, new international]

Well, then I'm proud to say I don't believe everything the Bible says.

i actually agree with you on that point although i am kind of a christian myself

i believe in having your own faith and your own way of worshipping God because we already know that the bible may have been mistranslated, but what have they left out or changed to control people?

I've always wondered what it is about man that makes him/her think that god needs (or even wants) to be worshiped. I know if I made a bunch of kids and they followed me around all day saying, "I am nothing. You are everything" I'd give them a swift kick and tell them to get lost. Go do something with your life. Make me proud.

Well probably more then a few million. lol
Maybe God's vain and needs to be constantly adored. It's happened many times in ancient history, where rulers have killed those that do not worship them. After all it was also god that created those rulers and don't farthers pass on certain genes to their children?

I'm actually not sure. I've been thinking about that a lot more latgely. Basically, what I follow right now is that there is a God, may he be up in the clouds or not, but the sacred texts were originally His intention to get the word about faith out, but the men who wrote didn't have the same intentions.

i can believe in faith but i cannot believe in god. there are many different opinion about god. i find it amusing because the documentary that i watched made such amazing sense. the current religions are a plagiarized version of the old Egyptian ones. the concept came from thier gods but the meaning of god is actually a concept based on the starts and constilations. a random example, the bible or whatever said that jesus died and was resurected 3 days later right? if you look at the sun on those same days you will see that it stays in the sky at the same point for 3 days.(jesus's death) then it starts to rise as the days get longer(his rebirth) that probly makes no sense what so ever cause im really tired. you would have to watch it to understand it

There is no god! You should stop falsely believing in something that's never going to happen, but that's just my opinion on it.
