Mr. Shea, you have been a hero of mine since I was a little boy (I'm now approaching 70 years old). I have fortunately developed a strong base voice that I mainly picked up from my Dad when sitting beside me in church. My 94 year old Father pass away this past month on February 13, 2013. My Mother proceeded him in death and a comment was made during his funeral that he went back to Mom for Valentine's Day. I have sung solos in church a few times and they seemed to be well received. I told my current choir director that I wanted to sing a hymn in memory of my Father. Between the two of us, we chose your hymn "I'd Rather Have Jesus". I sang it this past Sunday, March 10th. Many seemed to be moved. Thank you for your great hymn and thank you for all the wonderful music you have given us over the years.

..."well he hit that reverend like the kick of a mule and to my way of thinking it took a pure fool...to turn the other cheek to that lumberjack, but that's what he did, the Reverend Mr Black"
then the Reverend My Black cut that lumberjack down like a big oak tree when he sang:
..."you've got to walk that lonesome vally...you've got to walk it by yourself no no nobody else can walk it for you, you've got to walk it by yourself...."

God bless our Brother George Bernard Shea. AMEN!
