<quoted text>No one has ever "had" anything "with God." They've only ever imagined it.

Such hopeless dreams among the faithful/gullible are not unlike the young boy who falls in love with the unattainable, unrealistic pin-up girls depicted in the posters on his bedroom wall. The key different in that case being: That pin-ups actually exist somewhere in reality, whereas the magical super-beings depicted in the ancient fiction of the Bible and its ilk never have, nor will, beyond the imaginings and wishful thinking of their ancient, primitive inventors... and their blindly persistent following to this day.

The good 'ol "you'll see," hellfire and brimstone warnings hold no sway over those with half a brain, either having been untainted or freed from ridiculous superstition and fear, and seeing you delusions for what they are, not what you wish them to be.

I'm mildly offended by such rampant silliness, but not overly surprised.

So pray to your Easter Bunny if it makes you feel better. Convince yourself that you really do feel the presence of your made-up sky master of choice, and rest peacefully thinking you'll somehow persist beyond your body's end (and that those who mock you will suffer some equally fantastical penalty in the end).

But know this: However easily you may be duped (or however completely you may have duped yourselves) there will always be those of us who aren't buying it - more all the time, in fact. To us, your promises of doom and gloom for our heresy/enlightenment are laughable at best, and at worst, speak to little more than your own intellectual and emotional handicaps.

Now please, be a good, predictable little clutch of myth-lovers and quote s'more nonsense from your irrelevant, inapplicable book of contradictions for us. I've read the thing before - thrice in fact - but I just *know* that referencing it will fulfill your incessant desires to defend your precious little psychological constructs, and serve as a fine witness to other potential suckers.

You can even pretend that any delay in my next scolding is actually your god or gods striking me down for my wickedness, rather than me simply having better things to do most days, if that makes you feel better. Just try not to guess as to why I continue to return, unharmed, uncharmed, and if anything, a bit more prosperous than last time I chimed in; that might spoil the effect ;-)
I feel sorry for you, you maybe getting by right now, how can anyone deny GOD he created this world and he's gonna destroy it and those that's now ready to go back with the coming of his Son Jesus Christ is doomed to Hellfire. Heaven and Hell are real, I feel for you and sorry for your misguidance and for not having been taught about the Lord and how he hung on cross to die for our sins, I'd be much careful if I
Was you denying that GOD exists the bible is being fulfilled as we speak, I'm strong believer in GOD the Father and JESUS the Son and the Precious HOLYGHOST.

You assume that I wasn't taught your myths. Oh, but I was, and for many years I even tried to believe in them.

Then I grew up, read a few more books, traveled the world a bit, asked a few tough questions to which there were no real answers from believers or pastors. I later concluded - as have most of our betters in the fields of ancient history, archeology, paleontology, geology, and in academia & the scientific community in general - that it's merely an old collection of unenlightened fireside tales told by ignorant primitives who didn't/don't know any better.

I mean, for crying out loud: Back then, they thought the Earth was flat, had near-zero knowledge of their own world and the (real, natural) forces that governed it, no clue that there even WAS a Western Hemisphere, and were for all intents and purposes only a little more advanced than cave men, when they first put pen to scroll. So of course their nonsense wouldn't hold up to any serious scrutiny.

In the centuries to come, those old tales would be altered and honed into a perfect tool to control and exploit the ignorant masses, used by world leaders and religious bodies to great profit, cited as their excuse for extortion, war, atrocities, hate and and greed. Believe it or not, it's still used to great effect, along with other similar belief systems - Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, etc... take your pick.

But your Christianity is predominant here in the States. No surprise: Squabbles over interpretation and who controlled the power and profits in the once all-powerful Christian empire resulted in denominational splintering of the church, and colonists and immigrants brought their versions of Christianity and its book of nonsense here, so that now, generations later, you could try to tell me that it's somehow still relevant.

And it is, but only because belief in it (sadly) still influences real people like yourself. That is its sole power over the real world: The power you give it over yourself in your own mind.

So why, exactly, would I need to take care not to offend your crusty old make-believe creator that exists only in the minds of believers?

You feel sorry for ME? That's cute.

I'm not the one that bases all my decisions, my hopes, and my peace of mind on some primitive and ludicrous lie.

I'm not the one that is trying to stretch and adopt Biblical references to political and social conditions in the Middle East during the First Century and make them apply to current events... or were you unaware that the Bible's latter authors believed that the prophesies of Revelations were being fulfilled in their own lifetimes?

Do a little reading beyond your tired old tome, and you'll see that people back then drew the same parallels, and have every generation since, thinking THEIRS is the one in which Armageddon is coming.

Yet it never does.

But each time they are once more proven wrong, holy men simply "re-interpret" the prophesies and signs, as they try (and fail) to stay relevant.

You'll go to your grave waiting on the same grand vindication they did - the return of your savior to collect his dimwitted flock. And just like the generations that awaited the Second Coming before you, the train won't come.

As for the origins of humanity and the universe: I won't even go there. It's easier for the simple minded to believe it was all seven days of magic and joo joo, because all of the complicated, rational sciences that say otherwise are probably beyond your grasp. So go on believing only that which you are willing/able to grasp. I'm sure it's far easier, and feels better for whatever reason, and it effects me not at all.

I actually consider it an honor that folks such as yourself think me damned. If ignorant, superstitious fools started thinking me righteous, THEN I'd be worried.

That was from a post dated Feb. 21, 2012. It' s on page 32. Today is March 23rd. Hmmm, let's see...how many more postings were you going to make (at least 5 more) before you weren't going to say anything at all? Remember, you said you weren't going to say anything, yet when I mentioned the word DEMON, it summoned you from your grave? Identify much? You just can't stand it, can you? Demons do seem helpless to walk away from these things.

Yup. I AGREE you have issues. I just couldn't get over how silent you've been... How do you manage?

You confuse "need" with "ability." Hence your inability to provide the necessary quote.

Again, try to remember the important part of the post you've only partially fixated upon: That your "demon" silliness made it impossible for me to resist. Others have also contributed, but you most definitely kicked it off.

Really, I should thank you! You've given me an inexpensive way to pass time during my days off, or even during slow days at work (thanks to the Topix mobile interface). It's an amusing way to kill a few minutes here and there.

At any rate, your feeble complaints have failed to shame me (chuckle) into refraining from my renewed hobby of unabashedly mocking the ignorance herein, to include yours, regardless of your misinterpretation of a select part of my earlier remarks.

You and your ilk sure do like to pick-and-choose and creatively interpret what you read, after all. Without that skill, the very foundations of your religion would have faded into well-warranted obscurity long ago. So it is unsurprising to find the same artful grasps for purchase taking place here that the holy men you've subscribed to have long employed to keep your old book afloat over the centuries.

Let's recap: Your efforts to shoot the messenger have failed, AND have further showcased that you lack a basic grasp of literal reality, even going so far as to magically re-interpret and re-fashion a random heretic's forum posts to suit your points and purposes.

Would you care to continue? Not that I need the help, but you seem to have a natural knack for making my points for me.

You might consider that, between reading and dissecting your nonsense, better things to do might come up, thus the delay? It really doesn't take me all that long, once I giggle my way through one of your posts, to craft a reply. I'm simply cannot stay rooted behind a keyboard, anxiously awaiting your every word. I can see where that would seem a foreign concept to someone who doesn't share that disposition.

At the time I posted that remark, when I first noticed this thread had become active again after its respite, I had indeed thought of not chiming in. Then I saw what was written to re-ignite it, and found that post irresistibly foolish and in need of scathing. That it was you was just happy chance. Oh, but you misunderstand: You've made a fool of *yourself* My Dear, and I've merely pointed it out to you. That you fail to see that is, well, foolish.

And while my contributions have been better than you or the Topix Forums deserve, it's probably not interesting enough to sell well as a book. But it's cute to know you find it so impressive.

Hades

Hades is the Greek Word most commonly used for the Hebrew Word Sheol.
Sheol, for the record, is typically known in various translations as "Grave," "Hell," "Pit."
Hades is the Place where Unsaved people go immediately after they Die (Lk 16:19-31).
Hades, is like being sent to Jail (so to speak, and in elementary terms) where Unsaved People are in Torment, awaiting to be summoned to appear before JUDGE JESUS (Matt 13:41-43, Matt 7:21-23), at the Final Judgment: The Great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11-15), and are found GUILTY. They will then be sentenced and then sent to the Final Prison which is: Hell / The Lake of Fire.
There are NO Exits out of Hades.
Jesus tells a story of a Rich Man who died in Luke 16:19-31 and was sent to Hades.
Earlier Translations of "Hades" (King James Version) most often translate Hades as "Hell".

Sheol

This is the Old Testament Name for the Place where people go when they die (without the Lord), much like the New Testament word "Hades".
In the King James Bible, the Old Testament term Sheol is translated as "Hell" 31 times.
Modern translations, however, do not translate Sheol as "Hell" at all, instead calling it "the grave," "the Pit," or "death. When translated "Hell" it refers to the place of punishment, but when translated "grave" the reference is to the souls of good men.

Tartarus

Tartarus is a Place where the Demons who disobeyed God in Noah's Day— are Bound in Chains, in darkness (Jude 1:6).
It's a Prison for Angels (2 Pet 2:4), who will be confined their until the final Judgment (2 Pet 2:4, Rev 20:11-15, Jude 1:6), OR during the Great Tribulation Period, when many of these Demons will be loosed for a short time on the Earth to inflict pain on people.
Tartarus is also believed to be Lower in the Earth than Hades. Jesus visited Tartarus after he died on the Cross (Psalms 16:10, 1 Pet 3:19). Both Old & New Bible Translations always translate Tartarus as "Hell."
