The helicopter doesn't bother me as much as the "train". It is a lawn mower disguised as a train pulling a trailer/car. It is loud and I have to stop talking to my customers every 5 minutes when it passes my booth.

However, I am glad to see something for the smaller kids to get excited about at the fair. The train guy should put on a second muffler or use an electric car or something not so loud.

Really, you have to yell over it if you are talking to a customer and he does go by every few minutes. It will be the death of me by next Saturday. lol

They have "Elvis" this year too. I haven't seen him but have heard him singing. He sounds pretty good. Another positive, IMO, that the fair is trying new things to accomadate more tastes of people.

Friday and Saturday were great for sales; yesterday there were a lot of people but not many were buying. It does look like it will be a good Fall Festival.

Because not every day can be 'killer'. You have to look at the entire show as an artist/crafter. Monday was fairly good, today was fairly slow. You have to average out the days and look at the total number at the end.

Plus you have to think about how many repeat/new customers you will have visiting your website. If you hand out cards and explain your product, they may not buy at the fair but may place an order later.

I hope this will be a profitable show for all of you! I am looking forward to being there this week.

Today they had a southern rock band play in the fairgrounds on the bottom level. They played 2 sets, I believe. It was loud but it was, to me, a breath of fresh air. Something new and different.

I walked over there and saw even older people singing along. I guess they were doing mostly 70's music. I loved it!!!

I had a very good day for a weekday. Momof5, I hope to see you there :)

I'm wondering if the whiners have any idea as to how much the newest HOT entertainers charge to put on a show nowadays. 3000 seats times $9 is only $27000. The top young artists just laugh at those small numbers. The young fans have created entertainers that demand four times that amount. We're lucky to have pretty darned good musicians show up for small money!

Sure, but 3000 seats time $30.00 is $90,000.00, have you checked the prices they have to charge for shows lately. For the Festival you have to take the total gate times $9, a lot don't go to the show. But Who Cares, most of the music shows are in Franklin now, it's in our local paper every week..
