I guess the good times are over for these corporate charters and their business dealings. The City of Santa Ana's natives are getting restless also, redevelopment, infill, projects,housing and we say where there is smoke must be fire! It it time that the goverment starts going after white collar crime, but who do you trust? stake holders, joint ventures, private security. What is the league of cities doing about all the corruption?

I've grown up in Carson and attend Carson High right now. Even as a young person, the impact of corruption with the city has always been evident, but no one seems to make an uproar about it. It is simply a passing story in the Daily Breeze. What is it that we cannot keep an eye on our elected officials? Carson residents can see a consistent pattern of corruption and illegal activity, but we keep allowing such figures into our council repeatedly. Just look at all the random plots of land on various corners that have a sign mapping out plans for a project in that area. These signs have been collecting dust for years while trash and uselessness collects. But how can a council work to change a city positively when they are so emerged in their own selfish agenda? I want to see a change for Carson, all of us do.

We need our councilwoman, Julie back Please. You were sounding smart until you mentioned or suggested that Julie Ruiz-Raber should regain her council seat! We truly need a new beginning and should vote all the sitting members out of office; and maybe that will allow us to escape the fiscal quagmire we are currently in today!

CARSON-SAME OLD, SAME OLD! The security tapes should be viewed so as to corroborate or disprove the allegations in question. If he is innocent, Councilman Mike Gibson should demand that this be done!

This sort of appointment would have gone on unnoticed by the average Carson voter without this article. We would have a new City Attorney and have no idea why this firm was selected. Its obvious this guy Leal has screwed up in many cities: Commerce, Lynwood, Maywood...
Thank you, Gene Maddaus. This information, at the very least, will keep our government "honest" and "transparent."
And the calls of racism by earlier commenters is completely uncalled for. This reporter has consistently backed this majority, and now when he goes against them he is racist??? I dont think this has anything to do with race, and everything to do with dirty politics. Excellent points! Seems like Gene Maddaus is doing the right thing and tha usually angers the people who get caught!
