I think, there is so many better bands than dimmu borgir, like Burzum,Borknagar,Darkthrone,Em peror and Immortal...

Dimmu Borgir is the most popular out of any Death Metal band or Melodic Death Metal band because of their repulsion of God!!!

I think dimmu borgir is good but not the best! The point is the power of music not the repulsion of God! and dimmu borgir do not have that much power!

Man I Like Dimmu, I think musically they're one of the best metal bands around. They may not be the most "power" driven but at least some black metal is getting recognized. I really hated Mayhem though, they were slow and boring to me.

Dimmu isn't black metal anymore only they're first three albums. But still an awesome band. I saw them this year in May.

Dimmu Borgir is a group of sell out posers. Go listen to Marduk if you want some black metal.

I love it when some self righteous metal head whines and moans about how a band sells-out, and i think its all based on one thing. Jealousy..Dimmu borgir can now make a living on music alone, you wish you could do the same ....but you cant.

Black metal is not supposed to be recognized and I think Dimmu ''Booger'' are a sack of slimy $hits who're a bunch of candy a$$ faggots who deserve to be banned from the scene. Black metal is not about production or how catchy the music sounds or should be, it's about the atmosphere, nihilism,anti-Christianity and most of all misanthropy. And I recommend black metal bands record their music over an answering machine. Dimmu blastbeats too much and uses keyboards too much to the point where their $hit sounds polished. Sorry to swear so much in this post but that's how much I hate this band with a passion-loathe entirely. And plus they over label and over classify the concept of satanism or hatred towards concecrated religions. It's like this band signed with Disney studios or some $hit. They seriously need to fu¢k off man. Again black metal is not some music that needs to be recognized by the mainstream let alone want to because that's the whole point of the music dumba$$e$; for it's disgust towards the mainstream. BM is not some kind of fashion statement either for you depressed teen losers to get into and parade around and be a sellout to the scene by listening to this music only for good production. And if you're a mallblack who're people who shop at the mall, wear black, and think that their music is more bR00taL than everyone elses because the members of said bands wear spikes, body armor, black shining leather, dildos, anal plugs, anal beads, bondage gear, COF shirts, and have been interviewed in Terrorizer magazine and think they know black metal, seriously, don't do this to black metal people. I'm fu¢king serious, stop, just fu¢kin' stop for Per Yngve Ohlin is probably flipping in his fu¢kin' grave at this....

And stfu t-tard. It's not based on jealousy; how can you even be under the assumption of that when you don't even know the person? You don't know you're talking about when you clearly have the IQ of a cantelope. "Jealousy",(SCOFFS) HA! ROFLMAO! What a tard!

Dimmu has earned everything they have goten plane and simple. They are brilliant musicians as well as buisnesmen. No its not the "trveist" of black metal but it is still apart of one of the dozens of sub genres which every one in this place, even the dimmu haters, are guilty of knowing and liking. They make a crap load of money by making awesome music and very entertaning shows. Does any one here really think they don't know a lot of people dislike what they do? They clearly dont give a rats ass. They do what they do for a reason and love it. No one can judge that. Even slipknot. A band I hate i can still defend in the same rights

The irony of black metal is that when you become popular and start making choices that ensure that you stay popular you are against black metal ideology. Black Metal is about nihilish and the rejection of the sheep mentality. Theoretically Black Metal stands for each man for himself and for individuality. Thats why many black metal bands DONT do live concerts because it is against what black metal stands for.

Personally for me black metal is too much about the message which is why I prefer death metal which is all about the music.

Dimmu Borgir is a great metal band period. I love Darkthrone, Mayhem and all the other 2nd wave innovators. Study the history of metal music and then form an educated opinion. Not like cause they suck man they ain't kvlt or whatever you people coin as terms. Start back in 1970 with Black Sabbath and move years later into the beginnings of black metal with Hellhammer, Bathory , Merciful Fate, Celtic Frost etc etc. Slayer influenced many 2nd wave black metal bands as Fenriz has stated many times. Every black metal band that signs a record deal is at some level a sellout if you choose define it as such. Just enjoy the music that you like and leave it at that. I seriously doubt any of you ever burned down a church or stabbed someone to death.

Dimmu aren't a black metal apart from their first few LPs, the Godless Savage Garden compilation and the split they did with Old Man's Child. Despite that, I'd say their music is still better than most, therefore if they achieve mainstream success, then good for them.

they know their stuff and they are good at it. I love what they are doing! I hope they stay on the path of what Abrahadabra exhibited: a marriage of classical and heavy metal with tight arrangements. They did include the orchestra and choir..how cool is that? And Shagrath still sounded deftly evil t/o even though the message of the album wasnt evil. SO cool!
