They will make more money from tourism than selling it off.

How can a secluded, far away wine county valley support tourism?

It would need a major interstate, an airport, hotels, restaurants, shopping centers and other businesses to survive. Fans can get there, but where would they stay?

Actually, the estate can not zone it for commercial use and that it why they are letting Colony Capital sell the property. They can not make money from it without ruining the charm of its surroundings. The people that live there do not want development.

I've read that Paris Jackson is very upset that the greedy Jacksons will not shell out sixty to eighty million dollars to buy back Neverland. She actually wants it to be a hospital or home for sick children dedicated in the clown's soiled name. She threatened never to have anything to do with them again if they let it slip away to another owner.

That is just 2 Bad, Paris Rowe.

It is hilarious that the estate brags that Wacko made three billion dollars since his pathetic nude death in 2009, but the greedy Jacksons have still failed to pay off their nine hundred million dollar IRS debt. Obviously, Michael Jackson's estate is not doing as well as floons claim. They constantly lie like the dead clown once did while he was still alive and molesting numerous under aged boys trapped in his lair.

Anyway, the Neverland property needs to be razed with fresh soil and the wicked buildings demolished by the new owners. Before the clown bought the land, it was in fact, a golf course resort for the wealthy and well to do senior retirement community. The stink of the lust, sin, animal torment and death needs to be removed from the property before they can rebuild...

the floons still think that the dump is Whacko's! the deadbeat freak lost it years ago. The local people do NOT want floons arriving in the area, Whacko the doodoohead was bad enough. The place is a foul stinking dump , a monument to perversion and child abuse and animal cruelty.(and doodoo snowballs and duck butter)

Neverland Ranch is not even the ranch's name anymore. Once MJ lost sole ownership of the property (which was not made public), the name was actually changed back to Sycamore Valley Ranch. This was JUST before his death, I think. And probably before his 50th birthday. I'm sure if they haven't gotten rid of those gates that said welcome to Neverland, that'll be the first thing they do with the place.

Day trips and sleep overs would be a hit and bring in more money that wine tastings into the region. I can't wait.

Your posts shows you are not from the region. The locals never complained when Neverland was in operation. Your personal concerns are not proof of what the local people want or don't want.

Do you really believe they'll turn that place into a tourist trap, racist? My gawd you're naive.

Octo, that is why tourists come here - to enjoy the beautiful country, to wine taste, to relax, to enjoy the ocean near by. There are shops close by, wonderful restaurants, theater, concerts, etc. It is in between Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, so there are airports, a highway, hotels and of course, there are businesses. There's even a casino (Chumash). But the sole purpose of people coming here is to enjoy the beautiful country AND wine tasting!!! This area is as big as Napa Valley for wine tasting - there are about 250 wineries now. Did you ever see the movie,'Sideways'? It was filmed around Solvang and Los Olivos. Solvang, by the way, is a little Dutch town and attracts many tourists as well. San Luis Obispo is a college town. Just ask me - I live here!:-)

Most tourists wouldn't be interested in that...and I'm sure the neighbors wouldn't like all the cars and noise, etc. This is a fairly wealthy community around the area and we want to keep it beautiful.

True, the locals do not want floons coming to the area. Better to flatten it.:-) We have enough tourist traps here anyway.
