great for darius. although you really can't compare him to charlie pride. charlie started in country and ended in country. not sure where darius started but he blew up huge with the hootie group, it split up, then he even tried r&b and now country so he crosses different genres. i like his songs.

Country music is popular because its changed. You have Canadians and Australians who sing country music. Country music has gone Hollywood.

I like Tim McGraw, who's also an actor; so country music has definately gone Hollywood.

I like Darius' voice, no matter the genre. His voice makes his songs believable.

I like a good singer and a good song. I like all kinds of music.
Back in the day kenny Rogers was always popular because he could sing and made good songs.
Country music is basically one step away from becoming popular music. They have mostly tried to make it more apealing so it will sell to an international audience. Country music is still sung using a Southern or Western American english dialect but thats the only thing that hasn't changed.

You have Whites and Latinos who sing Hip hop and they are accepted by all of the people who like that type of Music.
Country music is simply opening itself up to anyone who sings in that type of style.

the one thing i will say however is that darius is NOT a new artist so i really don't understand how he was awarded the cma new artist award. i mean if tina turner starts to sing opera and gets the new artist award at an opera award's show i think most people would scratch their heads. i don't really understand that one.

Maybe it's because it's Darius's first country CD. If Tina Turner turned out opera CD and it was her first she might get the same award. But the chance of Tina Turner doing opera is pretty slim.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
