I know. Though their favorite murder weapon is the Taser. Children, old ladies, mentally retarded, all unarmed and non violent too. No charges either and paid vacation while internal affairs (which I hear is being legally opposed in several places as an illegal court) blows it off. Internal affairs is a serious problem because it shelters police from due process and the criminal justice system. Only on a rare occasion are the police held accountable for their crimes.
The police have murdered so many unarmed non violent people in recent years that I can't even keep track of it. This helps:
There is one thing I do know. It is only a matter of time before police provoke a realy nasty radical element that lurks in our society and it will be open season on police and it won't be by groups or gangs but by individuals. I seen a long list online years ago of police who walked away from their crimes.
Every civilized society goes through that phase and we haven't had it yet but the way the police are going with their killing with impunity it's only a matter of time. Not that I condone it, I just know it's coming.
Just because a cop "thinks" a person has a gun is not satisfactory to society to open fire but it is OK with the department and is basically nothing more than murder. Just because the police may "feel" threatened is not satisfactory to society to open fire but it is OK with the department and is basically nothing more than murder.
Pre-emptive killings "just in case" is like Bush's pre-emptive war syndrome. It is criminal both in concept and practice.
Especially since the Patriot Act has become common law applying to the general public citizen instead of the terrorists and terrorism that it was created for.
In a police state only the police are the law, what they say and when they say it.
So you are for the police waiting to get shot before doing anything?

Of course not. If no one is demonstrating a weapon and the police open fire is cold blooded murder.

If it is justifiable for police to kill like this just because they feel threatened then they can kill anyone anywhere anytime because the police are under this same threat 24 hours a day. They live in fear and paranoia constantly for themselves and their families because there are so many criminals who would kill any of them given the chance. Not only criminals but also the people that they do wrong also seek opportunity to get even.

It is a job that entails a lot of enemies, more than one can keep up with and this sadly takes its toll on the human mind and the result is trigger pulling killers who are mentally wrecked. This is one reason why so few people want to be police and why there is a shortage of police is because it is a job that literally robs you of the enjoyment of life and family because of constant fear and paranoia.

If the police see that a suspect has a gun in his hand, no problem, open fire. Don't take the opportunity to empty two or three magazines into them. Overkill like this is murder and gunshot wounds above and beyond the need to remove the threat. It is exactly like a madman clubbing the victim in the head till their head is an unrecognizable pulp when the victim was hopelessly gone and the object was achieved on the first whack. The other 20 whacks was just getting off on it. Its hate. This type of overkill demonstrates mental and emotional instability.

Premptive shooting just in case someone has a gun without actually seeing a gun or there actually being a gun is out of control paranoia resulting in cold blooded murder.

At the going rate the police can kill anyone anywhere for any reason anytime and all they have to do is say that they felt threatened irregardless is the one murdered had a weapon or not.

This is going to have disterous consequences in our society if this is not stopped and this has been going on for a long time.

Any such thing like this in society will have disterous consequences if not checked.

It is time for the police we have in this country to be put on trial. They are PAID TO UPHOLD THE LAW! Not be judge, jury and executioner!
The shooting of innocent citizens lets loose the assumption that the police are afraid to deal with the 'REAL' criminals.
Always remember,"when policemen break the law, then there isn't any law. Just a fight for survival.
