I understand why this community does not want the JW,t is not about religion most people in planned neighborhoods see any church as a high traffic area. Homes in areas where any church is located lose their home values it is a money thing not a religious issue. It is also harder to sell a home located next to a church of any kind.

I don't understand why churches, and yes, JW's congregate in a church whether they like to admit it or not, don't locate in business zones.

That's what they are, a business.

There should be a rule that the wt has to have a huge wall of glass in all their kh's .Beacuse the way they build them now all their pedofiles are hidden in their windowless halls.

there are a number of practical reasons that Churches don't attempt to build IN DOWNTOWN LOCATIONS

COST COST COST - when you consider the amount of space needed for parking 100's of cars, etc, it is just not "practicle" when you can go out and buy 5-25 acres of land, build a nice parking lot, instead of a parking Garage in the city.

so there are many reasons why a denomnation would not try to build a church on "K" street in Washington DC

you make a good point, could you share with us some of the data on the impact of a church in a home community?

but i have to differ with you in regards to this not being a religious thing only in terms of while many groups might not be welcomed, with the jw it is somewhat different in that in my view a community DOES NOT SEE ANY VALUE that JW add to the community in general

jw as a general stance NOT PARTICIPATE in any community actitivies beyond "Emergency" situations, flood, hurricane, etc

but on a day to day basis, jw add no value- while many religions have day care or senior citizen programs, I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT HOMELESS SHELTERS OR SOUP KITCHENS, just basic things that many religion bring to a community jw do not

hawking wt books is not "charity"

if a hall is approached to help get a Stop Sign put up NOT ONE ELDER WOULD HELP get signatures on the petition,

so for many folks they see jw as NOT A APART OF THE COMMUNITY, which is part of their dogma
we are not part of THE WORLDLY FOLKS WHO live around our Halls, and labeling folks cause they don't accept the explantion of the wt editorial staff of scripture that they are "heathens" IS NOT GOING TO ENDEAR THEM TO ANYONE or make folks listen to their concerns about getting a place of worship

Jehovah's witnesses provide zero asset to any community, they run no charities and will not aid any in the neighborhood either.
They WILL have people there day and night, sometimes very late, who have no respect for anyone else, because they believe that "god" only cares about them.
Keep it up folks, and keep these weirdos out of your neighborhood, they willingly take in pedophiles and will break the law and have them near your children, because they believe waving a Watchtower under the nose of a pedophile cure them.
Doesn't matter that it is a proven fact that pedophiles cannot be cured and should never be around any child. Jehovah's witnesses give pedophiles full access to all children of Jehovah's Witnesses and will let them be around the neighbor kids too.

Jace in any comunity most churches locate in more of a business site here in virginia they are mostly on busy roads just outside of neighborhoods usually, If they are located in residential it greatly affects property values. You do have very good points too as to the assets they don't bring that many churches do I definitly can not argue that. My daughter lives accross the street from a church and she hates the bells ringing and the special events and sunday chruch as it clogs up the neighborhood. That is in a city area so no choice, my bet is the church was probably there first:) I bet they are afraid the jw will be knocking every day;)

For those that care, you can stop visits by JWs by simply calling the nearest "kingdom hall" and asking to be placed on their "do not visit list". As annoying as they can be, they will always honor the request.

Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

The most effective way to keep them off your property is to call the nearest kingdom hall, give them your address and tell them that you are an apostate. That strikes so much fear in their hearts that they will tell every one of their spiritual brothers and sisters to stay away from your driveway.

Lol

Being on the home owners assoc i had it included in the newsletter that the jw were offering a Do Not Call list that was available to any home owner

Just let the next jw know or called the following number which was the house of the local PO at that time snd let them know you eould like to be included on their list

Lol

We ran it for a number of months and residents took full advantage. Now ck this out

At the time there were 2 jw families my wife and I knew who were on their way out

And they told us that our subdivisions started to have all these request

Folks would open their door with a big old smile
Only to request. I understand you have a Do Not Call "program". Our family would like to participate in your program

See folks are so use to asking to be put on do not call list It was so natural since folks consider jw like the guy asking do you need a handyman to put in a patio for you or cut your grass

Jw are just viewed as a nuance
It was funny

Thanks but I already know that seeing as I have a JW parent and that I was a JW who spent many years in the field service. See I have fogotten in the past on occasion to write down homes where people requested this and they were not to happy when I returned days later for a follow up, I allways aplogized. Manytimes people forget to write the do not calls down or it gets lost in traslation when they hand the territory in, It is best to post a sign directtly relating to religon. That is what They will honor.

Interesting and I bet that did spread like wild fire. There is one difference between the west coast and east. Many areas here have HOAs they are mostly unheard of on the west coast. The HOAs are awesome and they have news letters everyone knows everything that goes on in the neighborhood, so I can imagine how this went down.

It did. Folks simple thought it was some new program offers by the jw

We explained in the newsletter that this was a "Program" being offered by jw so they will not interfere with the privacy of home owners and would save them time for those not interested

Lol

For nonjw this is so standard in terms that org and groups and telemarketers do this all the time

Of course jw views this a persecution and rejectiion of God the almighty lol

BS. It an organization wide POLICY.

If you have any that ignore the formal request, call the "hall" and ask to contact their "Circuit Overseer".

Sh!t still rolls downhill, even in the "kingdom".

LOL!!!
They most certainly will not "honor your request", because they are brainwashed to believe they are doing the work of "god" and by disrespecting your wishes, they are respecting those of the fictional god "jehovah" who lives in New York and keeps time cards keeping track of the fact they are indeed not respecting your rights to practice your faith.
