Wonder, it depends on one's Parents. Some think its okay, some don't. My Father did not want us to be Baptized as children. He felt it was best to do so when we were older, and able to better realize the seriousness of that step. Frankly, I am glad he did.
wise words.

Why did you post that to me topsy?
Because it was such an obvious retort to WONDER's claim it was funny....I cant believe WONDER didnt see that one coming...

Well back in 1967.....

Um.....WONDER.....It's uh......2012

I cant believe she actually pulled that one out, and I am glad you pulled out the clue stick on her.

Good for you....

. Well sweety.. before that time.. There were no questions.. And if you think that men have improved much over the years.. You've got another thought coming..Meaning.. some did not adher to following though and going over these questioned with the baptismal wanna be's then.. And I expect that that hasn't changed much..

. Yes! I know..the WTS..has played the card over and over. Yet.. inspite of it..they now baptize children .
Get them young before they have a chance to properly mature and realize what is going on.

Yes at the age of 12, a child can make the "decision" to be baptized to a publishing corporation YET cannot make the "decision" to salute the flag or attend their best friends birthday party!!

A total shame.

That 12 year old will grow up and leave the Jehovah's Witnesses.
So much for the "decision"!

. Force them into baptism ..by laying a guilt trip on them that if they can't make a commitment to God.. They probably aren't mature enough for marriage..
fact it.. hard to disipline a person if they felt like it..unless their baptized..:)

Too often those who are Baptized too young, don't have a full appreciation of what it means, and often leave. I know several who did. So they don't always stay just because of Baptism.

.
. Probably because it wasn't their choice .. Parents do tend to force children in to molds.. The same way many .. tend to live through their children..

Wonder, about 3 million are without power here. Many businesses had to shut down. The wind storm, knocked down power lines, and trees. So far, I have had my power...hope and pray it continues that way. Some winds were about 81 miles per hour. Not far from Hurrican force...but w/o rain. Its been horribly hot here. Triple digits, and more days to be that way.

WOW! Do you have lanterns or flashlights? Need to make sure things are in their place ..so that you don't trip over them.
And stay away from the windows.. IF you have a room with no windows that might be a good place to be..generally a bathroom is safer as there is more support in the walls..
I pray that you and your grandson will be safe.. I haven't been watching the news.. But we did have a mild wind all day.. Yikes.. I know you don't do heat well.. make sure you drink plenty of fluids.. hugs..
