Atheist billboard provokes Oklahoman Christians

Atheists in Oklahoma City have erected a billboard seeking fellow non-believers and Satanists have scheduled a conference in a city-owned building, drawing criticism from ministers in a state where more than 8 out of 10 people say they are Christians. Full Story

Let's get the facts straight:
In Isa. 45:7 we read: "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."
If there is any doubt that the christian god created evil, let's read Lam. 3:38:
"Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and evil come?"
Now, if according to the bible god was the one who did it, why to blame the poor devil of everything that's going wrong in this world? Most probably Hell is a franchise like Mc Donald's or Burger King. What's more, the devil might be overworked with so many christian he's got to take care of. Don't you agree with me?

I have seen this billboard and do not have a problem with it. that is their belief and they are entitled to it. What christian, or any other religion, has the right to tell them they are wrong. I am a christian myself.

Just because you dont believe in god doesnt make you a satanist. They could be agnostic.

Out of these three poosibilites which one do you think will take place. In the mohammedan edict, Convert or be Beheaded, would the Atheist be beheaded and the Christian not, the Christian be beheaded and the Atheist not, or neither be beheaded?

Because a lot "good christians" will kill you and not have a fleeting moment of conscience about it. Fundementalist christians and muslims have so much in common. And they both have access to government. very scary indeed.

The idea that Christians will "kill you" without a fleeting moment of conscience is blithering nonsense. So are the people behind the message of this billboard and Satanists having a conference in a city-owned building.

I see billboards for churches all over the place. Do you Cristians feel threatened? what happend to love, tolerance, and living a life from the example Jesus did. can you support the Constitution, and the bible? ya know ..religous freedom and all. or do you want to change the filthy constitution to give only christians the right to worship.( or choose not to worship anythiong if that is how they feel)

During my journey through life I have found 2 elements or groups in Christianity, Christians and pseudoChristians and I must admit I have met more pseudoChristians than Christians. Do you honestly and truthfully believe all those who did crusade ca 1000 years ago were Christians? I believe very few of those crusaders were Christian. Just as a dog does what a dog does, the same goes with a Christian. A person, any person is known, not by their words but by their actions. Haven't you met people whose words and actions were different? If you haven't, you haven't been watching or paying attention. Have a great day.

the biggest problem christians have right now is the fundmental belief in the virgin birth of Jesus. Without that belief thier entire religion falls apart.

I am sorry to tell them but Jesus was not virgin born according to the very texts that the modern bible is translated from. TO say otherwise is to dent the true translation of the hebrew texts.

Hey, Raptor of Calgary or wherever, it is great you know so much. How about this. Therefore Adonai himself will give you a sign: the young woman will become pregnant, bear a son and name him "Immanu EL(God with us). This is YeshaYahu, Isaiah to you, 7:14. The Hebrew word 'almah in Isaiah 7:14 means a young woman, and in the context of the Tanakh always a young woman of unsullied reputation, which is why the Jewish translators of the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Tanakh prepared 200 years before Yeshua's birth, rendered this word into the Greek as parthenos, virgin; this is the word used at Mattityahu, Matthew to you, 1:23. Raptor, you or anyone else, came too late to tell me and others what to believe. Write as many modern translations you want but you are too late. Oh, some will believe you. There are some who believe the mohammedans are peaceful people. So why not believe this lie and be damned. These are NOT my words, so don't get mad at me. Get mad at the one who originated it. Have a good day.

I dont get mad I am honestly curious as to how you would interprete the information. I wont belittle your belief unless you call questioning the words you live by is belittlment.

I will counter by saying that the word almah can be INTERPRETED as meaning virgin. BUT there are other hebrew words that would more closley decribe her condition such as

Betulah is a common word in the Jewish scriptures, and can only mean “virgin.”

Can you explain why they would choose to use a discription open to interpretation when they had the perfect right there in front of them ?

In response to that I would just like to way that there is as much hate, volence and bigotry in both the bible and the Qur'an to say yours is more peacfull is an outright fabrication.

People are people there are those that are violent and those that are not. It is clear that religion has no effect on the over all bad in the world. It is basic human nature that decides that. Religion is a tool to be interpreted and it is used to incite hate, bigotry, and worst of all violence agaist those that dont believe as you. But again most people have a little more common sense then to go bomb a building inthe name of thier god. and truly do want everyone to live in peace regardless of personal belief

The biggest irony of all is that virtually all contemporary "christians" gladly dismiss all the much older religions that have the exact same central themes...with of course different (heathen) names and other times and places. They find the claims to be absurd but when it's their own collection of myths that say the same things, they think it's holy, sacred and divine.

(To be fair, most other religions suffer from the same cognitive disorder)

You can add some Rabbis and followers of the Talmud to your list of homicidal maniacs:
