I usually go out there looking as rough as Tristan in Legend of the Falls.

I've been able to get three different people to talk to me so far. It's a former slave community
and full of poverty and substance abuse, homeless, etc. Lots of opportunity for service.

Also, lots of opportunity for harm to come to someone. I really shouldn't go alone, so I take my Bible. No kidding.

I got invited to a formal ballroom dancing Christmmas party. I have done that in the past, but that's not for me now.

I'd rather go to New Orleans and ride around with Brad on his 4 x 4 or chat with people down there who might need someone to talk to.

In the meantime, try reading "Blue Like Jazz"
Donald Miller. I got it from a church bookstore.
(I have many sides)

That was the last book we read in our "group"...

Have you ever read "Blue Like Jazz" by Donald Miller? That's all the churches talk about these days. I read it and "Through Painted Deserts" and they were okay reads and had gems here and there.

Maybe you could right a book, GC, totally on your spiritual journey.

As a Christian, I find it disturbing that this guy has to turn to alcohol to drown his problems. I mean, the guy has a career that most people would love to have. He's probably made more money than most people on this forum, and he's supposed to have the Holy Spirit guiding him. He's also a role model of some sort, I suppose; at the very least, he is a semi-recognizable Christian public figure. So thanks, Gar, for giving the lost world one more reason not to think that Christianity makes a real difference in anyone's life. Real genius at work here....this makes the whole divorce from Amy Grant make some degree of sense.
How would you know how much money people on this forum make?
People aren't supposed to follow a human person as all stumble and fall.
The important thing is to get up and keep walking. That's where faith comes in. Even faith could fail you but one thing never will.

PART 26
"Are you driving today, or should I?" the two men exchange chatter.
John is escorted to the van behind the building.
The drive back across town is done in silence.
At least John will get admittance into the Mission tonight.
I don't what this is about, STILL and you seem to be MIA. I have been ordered to make spaghetti and meatballs, so I will be back later after I get my meatballs browned and in sauce and will cook the al dente pasta later.

I hope you are well, wherever you are.

And Gary, there are plenty of questions on here for you to answer. You told us you would answer them ALL. Did you have your fingers crossed behind your back like I do when I promise to be good and not sarcastic?

This is all just about how we humans are just that, human beings. It's true, Christians have been called to stand out as role models, but if we just keep on throwing the first stone each and every time, it won't just add up: Nobody will really believe. This rock - throwing situation some people started back when they divorced, which some others seem to stick to in now judging Chapman's flaw just proves our "I'm right and you're wrong" anti-Christian issue. Yes, we have an "issue". Let's just make an effort and be reminded that no matter how public their lives might be for audiences all over the world, it is God who knows it all.
Or did you think that by writing righteous posts He's going to somehow forget we all need Him equally??? That'd be like taking spit out of the ocean. Not gonna happen. We're all sinners, not angels.
Hugs from Chile, my homeland... Come and visit!!!!

I don't know if it is civil to ask what happened to your ex. Sometimes we can't help but wonder why she is so different in how she looks and acts. Hardly recognizable at all.

Does she seem different to you?

Maybe we just weren't paying attention.

Go the Entertainment Forum if you want to see all the other celebs who are in the same boat with you or a similar one. It kind of worries me that you don't really think you have a problem.
I'm not as vociferous as Brenda, but I'm thinking you need a lot of people praying for you and your dad and your kids, maybe even your ex and
Mr. Tuxedo.

I come here when I should be reading or when it's too quite for me to ramble around and do things.
Sometimes what people write puts perspective on my situation.

I'm sure you can understand from having Riverstone. I could get control of my old property if I wanted. Then I'd have to pay taxes and upkeep plus either rent it, do a time share or something like that. Complicated because we don't know if my community property TRUMPS her being the spouse of the ...

oh it is too complicated.

I'm hoping to put it in a "God" jar. I saw one yesterday. It was beautiful and said "Pray without Ceasing"...

Just a simple observation from, I guess, a simple guy: To gchap and anyone who reads this, those who agree and those who don't. It's my opinion that this is a great guy with a great heart. A human being just like me and any one of you. We fall down. And when we fall down, we get a little dirty. It's hard to avoid. The truest reflection of our strengths and weaknesses is not whether or not we fall, but rather whether or not we can get back up again. And has he not? I still love this man, his career, the messages that have spoken to my heart, brought to me through this man too many times for me to count. But we can't see that he has gotten back up again. Of course not. Because the bad stuff is easier to see. As I see it, we are the only ones keeping this alive. More impressive I think is his ability to get back up and move on with people like US not being able to let go and LET him move on.

God bless, Gary. You still got fans you never lost.

If you are deserting it for good, at least say goodbye, adios, see you around,
etc.

It will be just what you need if you've been waiting for the right time to raise a tricky topic with you-know-who, and it will also come in handy if you're caught up in a potentially sensitive conversation with someone and you want to extricate yourself as smoothly as possible.
