Just what every church needs, "A Center for Non-Violent Communication." I take it that it won't have anything to do with "Thus says the Lord," or John the Baptists, "You brood of vipers! You warned you to flee from the coming wrath?", or Jesus, "Woe to you, you hypocrites" or his "I have not come to bring peace, but the sword." There is not one prophet in the Old Testament or one apostle in the New Testament that had anything like "A Center for Non-Violent Communication." They always spoke the Word of God. The result? It brought the prophet or apostle persecution. It never promoted religious wars or violence toward others -- unless God himself commanded it. Are we to now follow Robinson, who knows better that God, his prophets, and apostles? Maybe Robinson should start "A Center for Gospel Outreach." It would serve his church and TEC better. Look for more inclusion of those who love sin and exclusion of those who love God's word in DC and TEC.

So the bishop who fueled the fires of the culture war is going to change his personality overnight for "a new role as a bridge builder for a nation strained by divisive issues".

Robinson is a divisive issue.

from virtueonline:

"Religion News Service has an informative new article this week about homosexual partnered Bishop Gene Robinson and his plans after his January 5 retirement. Unsurprisingly, the New Hampshire bishop plans to relocate to Washington, D.C., where he already serves as a senior fellow with the liberal Center for American Progress. Robinson's partner will remain in New Hampshire, where he is employed ...

"'[Robinson] already raised $500,000 for a new $6.3 million sanctuary at St. Thomas', which was destroyed by arson in 1970, where a chapel will be named for him. He's pitching the chapel as a pilgrimage destination, especially for gay teens who've never seen a Christian tribute to an openly gay person.

"This does not sound like someone who wants to quietly step out of the spotlight:'Attention all gay teens: take a pilgrimage to the chapel named after me, where you can be inspired by tributes to me.'"

Yeah, well,... does it say that a bishop HAS to be married?

The people of the Episcopal Church Diocese of New Hampshire elected him.

The people of New Hampshire are an independent lot.
