The Greek is named as Takis Menelaus in Piaf's autobiography and my book. It set a precedent for her love of Greek men: Georges Moustaki, and of course Theo Sarapo. He last saw her in 1962, according to my godfather, who was at the apartment. Moustaki moved on, some years later, to befriend and write for Barbara, the greatest singer in France after Piaf, and my very dear friend. I have just dicovered this excellent forum, and am proud to be writing to you. They have few things like this in France.
