In a country revered for its musical encumbrance, we are often seen as fostering an unbalanced weight in musical integrity against our usual domestic duty. Musics boundless ability to help us rise above our everyday meniality within the workplace is still not enough to keep the providers of such a commodity afloat.
With damning reports of our economic climate continuing to evolve as quickly as our beloved great British weather the dramatic bleak backdrop of both economy and environment only further serve to highlight our ongoing recession and retail spiral.
Whilst others tend to batten down the hatches and do their very best to brave the ensuing storm, occasionally youll find a special someone willing to stand steadfast and welcome the tidal wave albeit dwarfed by that very ocean; they shine as a monumental beacon for further sailors to follow.
Forget a Hollywood blockbuster, this is Birmingham, where we keep it very real and keeping with our industrial attitude we will always fight to the bitter end and beyond.
From our fraught foundations will mount an even greater monument that will defiantly endure the winds and continue to shine brightly when those billowing storm clouds clear.
With superlative retail recognition there happens to be a very team of seasoned dj and music technology specialists that have recently boarded this enviable golden ship and set sail unerred by doomsayers and financial fact. In solidarity and resilient business model, the newly formed djtechdirect team have already travelled the proverbial Bermuda Triangle and come bouncing back.
Jamie OCallaghan former Hard To Find Store Manager, Owen Taylor (accomplished international artist and record producer in his own right) and HTFR Sales Manger, alongside a well versed Matt Mckillop (that counts experience as a head buyer for HMV and Team Management within Reverb and its predecessor Soundcontrol (the
former bearers of the Uks largest musical equipment retailer crown) have all fallen prey to the recession and consequent redundancy.
With an unprecedented amount of High Street giants and well-known independent retailers continuing to fall or struggling to stay afloat on a daily basis it is an extremely bold step to go against the grain in prefernce to jumping ship as fast as an Italian sea captain. Bucking the trend and becoming an overnight inspiration for many small businesses has been the daily drive of this very team.
Whether it rains or when it shines this is one independent retailer that will continue to dance regardless. Despite being open for only a matter of months the business is proving to be an almighty hit not just with professional DJs as producing music is much more accessible to the consumer now than it ever was. With technology advancing at such a rate now for less than a thousand pounds you can pick up a mixing desk plug in your iPhone and host a great party without even being a DJ, record it, post it online and allow your entire social network to be involved.
Despite the recession claiming their previous jobs, the team have embraced the new business with a correct approach of providing a unique service, selling the right products at the right prices and in the right places. In the words of Vincent Van Gogh The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible, but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for remaining ashore. We applaude the heartiness of this independent retailer in what is intrinsically bad economic weather and share admiration for the teams endurance and buoyant success as djtechdirect continue to float the musical boat.
