Jason Aldean stole Brantley Gilbert's my kinda party. Listen to Brantley Gilbert - My kinda party; it even sounds better. Give the credit where credit is due!

Jason Aldean properly credits Brantley Gilbert as the songwriter on all 3 of the songs he's covered by him. He no more stole them than Garth Brooks stole any of the 17 songs he did that had been previously done by other artists. Including one of his biggest hits, The Thunder Rolls, which was first recorded by by Tanya Tucker.

Having your songs used by other artists is just part of the music business. Brantley gets some money from it via union established rules but more importantly, he gets some widespread exposure as someone who prolifically writes songs that are capable of chart success. And it's quite likely that exposure of these songs helped in Brantley finally getting signed to a major label. He recently joined the Valory Music Co which puts him on the same label as country legend Reba McEntire.

DedTV,

It's one thing if someone can't sing and looks goofy but can write like hell (Bruce Robison), it's something entirely different if an artist is trying to make his own way and is doing just fine on his own.

I assure you that most fans of Aldean don't know about Brantley Gilbert and most fans of Brantley Gilbert didn't find him by hearing about Jason Aldean... But a lot should be said about the fact that Jason Aldean not only murdered "My Kinda Party," he named his freaking entire TOUR after the song!

I just wanted to say that I'm a music junkie and that I just bought Jason Aldean's latest album, "My Kinda Party" (that was released on November 2, 2010) a few weeks ago at Target. I really think that it is one of the best Country albums of 2010 and Jason is the main reason why I started listening to Country music in the first place. The album has now sold 1,237,081 copies over here in the United States of America and it also went Platinum. How cool is that? I'm so glad that I bought the album because I have been waiting for it to be released for a very long time. I also have all 3 of his previous albums and I listen to them all the time because I find his music so addicting, I just can't stop listening to it. I like the way Jason has taken Country music into a different level by adding a perfect mixture of Pop and Rock to it because not a lot of Country music artists in the music industry can really do that when it comes to their own music, which means that he has a lot of creativity when it comes to his own music. He made a good choice on choosing Kelly Clarkson on singing a duet along with him on the song, "Don't You Wanna Stay" because in my personal opinion, I really think that she has an amazing singing voice. Kelly is one of my most favorite female Pop music artists and songwriters in the music industry, and I'm also one of her most biggest fans. I'm going to keep on supporting Jason and his music no matter what anybody out there says or thinks because he is one of my most favorite male Country music artists in the music industry and I'm also one of his most biggest fans. He doesn't have to write his own music to become a talented Country music artist in the music industry because the only think that really matters to him is that he has a lot of fans out there who really enjoys listening to his music as much as I do. I already know that Brantley Gilbert originally sang and wrote the song, "My Kinda Party", but he gave that song to Jason so that he could record it on his album. If Brantley didn't want him to record that song on his album, then he wouldn't have given it to him to record in the fisrst place. Jason didn't steal that song from him, and I like his version of that song a lot better than I like Brantley's version. I hope that nobody here on this website won't get offended when I say that because I'm entitled to my own opinion and so is everybody else. End of story.

Actually Matthew... you're wrong about Brantley "giving" his song to Jason. He didn't give it to him at all, Jason basically covered his songs, it's just called "cutting" it, he can't do anything about it when he releases it to the public. But this is getting Brantley more exposure than anything ever would. It's just unfortunate he never gives Brantley and credit. Watch the clip below, Brantley talks about it.

Mathew.... You're a Complete Idiot! Of course anybody can make it as a performer, even if they don't write their own music, but stealing it..... Total LoseR! He has been a country music artist for a while now, and once he stole Brantleys Song and named his album and tour "my kinda party" he blew up! Even you said it yourself, this album is what made you start listening to country music.... Not his old albums or singles.... It was "My Kinda Party" written By Brantley Gilbert!!! Idiot!!!

Actually Lydia your wrong Brantley pitched the song too Jason Aldean if you guys looked these things up you would know this! Brantley pitched the song to be on the last album before the "My Kinda Party" Album as you can read here http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php... on top of that since everybody is crying that "Aldean stole Gilberts song" On the album "Halfway to Heaven" there is a song that both Gilbert and Aldean used called "Dirt Road Anthem" guess what neither of them wrote the song ! Or performed it first ! It was Cold Ford ! It's what musicians do you sell rights to songs you write for other artists its not stealing music ! People just need something to cry about !

Um first of all Brantley Gilbert was on Colt Ford's label when Colt Ford did dirt road anthem With him! Both are on the song! Second Jason stole both thier original verses and even tried to rap like Colt. Then on the other songs like country must be country wide and my kinda party he even stole the adlibs! Jason is a karaoke singer and needs to be on a disney kids show!
Ps songwriters and the musicians are the artists not the pop singers! And when you remake something make it original and not off an album that someone else just put out!
You guys are basically arguing that the cast of Jersey Shore are good actors because they happen to be on tv. It obviously takes little talent to be popular in todays society.

Actually Lydia your also wrong. If you really did your research you would find that Brantley Gilbert did in fact write dirt road anthem. Colt Ford was the first to do a cover for the song and then Jason Aldean did a cover of it as well. Before people start pointing fingering and saying this person is wrong and that person is wrong they should first get ALL of their facts straight. No one stole songs it's called "cutting" and no Brantley Gilbert did not sell his songs either.
