It's easy to associate Bing Crosby with his songs, movies, his love of horse racing and other sports and his annual Christmas special but whenever I hear his version of "White Christmas", my mind drifts to an 1986 episode of the tv sitcom "Cheers". The episode is called "Money Dearest" and Cliff's mother is about to marry a rich guy until he dies at his bachelor party which is held at the bar. Towards the end of the episode, Cliff's ma starts crying even though she barely knew the guy and the 2 of them start talking about an important event in her life and when Cliff thinks that's she talking about his birth, she replies "You know, Not many women got to shake hands with BING CROSBY".
