I remember watching 'Tootsie'. The movie was great and inspiring in a different manner. I must have been about ten years old, when I saw the movie.

Rest In Peace Mr Pollack. He seemed like a real nice person and I always enjoyed watching his films.

What a loss! He was a great actor and director. I hope his suffering was not to great at the end.

He was ok but my mate O'Toole could been just as famous if it wasn't for his cameraman getting arrested. He was attempting to make a film to rival The Godfather at the time. His aborted effort can be seen on youtube. It is called Just Lika The Sopranos.
Still, at least he's not dead. Maybe next time.

I've always thought of "They Shoot Horses, Don't They?" and Jeremiah Johnson" as being his major works.
