I caught this show and would agree with the majority of comments made in this review. I would however, strongly disagree when it comes to the subject of the leads.
Merritt David Janes was, in my opinion, the only actor on the stage who consistently delivered a strong vocal performance. He was also appealing, funny and comfortable on the stage throughout the show.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for Erin Elizabeth Coors who badly missed several notes in her first number and remained vocally shaky for the rest of the night. She lost a lot of the humour that is to be had from her character and seemed somewhat awkward and stilted on stage when not in the thick of the action.
The Wedding Singer is not in any way a theatrical masterpiece and most likely has a very limited shelf life but it was a nights entertainment worthy of the ticket price and I would recommend it to anyone who grew up in the 80's!
