Memo: Don't mess with 'the Bauer way'

Full story: The Indianapolis Star

One of my favorite movies is "The Untouchables," which tells the story of federal agent Eliot Ness and his work to bring down 1920s-era mob boss Al Capone.

Watching Indiana suffer because one man needs his ego stroked isn't entertaining.

It's sad.

This jerk has got to go. I don't care what party his replacement comes from...just so the person puts good legislation first. If this guy is so insecure about himself that he cannot take criticism, then he should get out of the public eye on his own. Since it appears that his arrogance is dominant, it is up to the people to get rid of this saboteur of good legislation for the benefit of the people, purely for personal reasons...did I mention that I think he is a jerk?!

There are some good Demos in the House. Why they let Bauer call every shot, every vote, every amendment is beyond explanation. They have no clue what is going on--unless Bauer tells them. They need to wise up and act like individuals and start representing their constituents instead of their King.

Fraud for fraud's sake - a good comparison to Al Capone. We can only hope he dies in prison.

Bauer is a total reactionary. He doesn't have an original constructive thought or plan. He doesn't look at what Indiana wants or needs. He just reacts. Pat Bauer is all about Pat Bauer.

What would the public reaction be if Bauer were a republican? What would the Star's reaction be? This article is crap! It's making it seem like Bauer is a bothersome neighborhood dog that barks too much. If he were a republican, the article would paint him as a pit bull that had killed every child on his street.

Whatever happened to representing the people? The middle class is slowly disappearing. the era of partisan politics needs to end and bauer being removed would be a good start

Pat's tactics are just what the Statehouse needs. The Republicans are screwing things up so badly right now that they need someone who will stand up and call them out on it. If they can't play nice then they should fully expect to have Pat Bauer get his revenge, maybe this state wouldn't be so backwards if we had more people stand up to the idiot Republicans in charge.

How unfortunate that an incompetent and incapable Pat Bauer was voted out the prior term but was voted back in because of the worthless "Vote for Change" campaign! The exact same applies to Baron Hill! A true "Vote for Change" campaign would be to put fresh faces into the political arena, not the same dried up old crooks from the past.

He's a political thug.

And he's ensuring with is often petty actions that Indiana will become if not already the Mississippi of the mid-west.

Good Job Mr. Speaker!

WOW, that column says it all what an IDIOT. The citizens of this state that voted for him should be questioning his ability. He is one of the reasons this state remains in the dark ages. He would not allow Daniels legislation, good or bad.

Shouldn't all bills at least get a chance at a vote. How can our represenitives represent us when they do not get a chance to vote.

Let me remind you that Pat Bauer was voted out the prior term because of his incompetence. Nothing has changed. He is still worthless. The "Vote for Change" campaign that placed him and Baron Hill back in office was a poor campaign as the "change" meant putting the same losers that we voted out once before back into office. You must not be able to label these guys as crooks because my last post was removed.

Correction:
House Speaker B. Patrick Bauer, D-South Bend.

Gee, what an unbiased story. LOL
Funny how you always put an "R" after every Republican, yet conveniently forgot to put a "D" after House Speaker B. Patrick Bauer.

Was there something about how Patrick Bauer, D-South Bend does things, that you thought best not to disclose that Bauer is a Democrat?
