I think the fact that Edward wants to wait until marriage before they have sex is being a good role model.

It's a heck of a lot cleaner than a lot of teenage movies these days.

Pam...,

Sure Edward is a good role model in the fact that he wanted to wait for marriage, but the whole trilogy was filled with subversive, subtle, sexual undertones. It wasn't really the rich storyline or character development that made the trilogy a hit. It made teenage girls tingle down low; that made it a blockbuster.

The movie capitalizes on teenage angst and the fact that sex sells.
And it sells best to teenagers whose parents prefer that they watch movies with good role models.

That has been going on for decades. It's nothing new.

Go back to the 60's and watch Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon movies. Those were geared to teenagers and parents complained it encouraged obscene dance moves, promiscuous clothing and sex on the beach.

I have seen all three movies and read all of the books. They are mild compared to many they could be watching.

The main thing is for parents to talk to their teens about sex and what is appropriate behavior. You can't let the media be their only source of information.

There are always situations going on here at Topix. People love drama.

If you have a complaint go down to the bottom of the screen and click on Feedback. Send an email stating your concern and someone will look into it.

Great advice Pam now maybe we can weed out incest and want to have sex threads and all the other ones that have no meaning at all.

I never saw the movie but when my kids were younger I was shocked at how many movies had sex in and still had nothing to do with the movie. I was embarrassed. It is a shame that you almost have to prescreen a movie to let you kids watch it.

The incest and pedophile threads serve a purpose. They are monitored by the authorities.

That is why it is a good idea for us to watch movies our kids see and talk to them about it.

I point out the inappropriate scenes and discuss them with my daughter.

I also don't let her wear promiscuous clothing. We have talked about it and she understands. One time she wore a t-shirt that was a bit too low cut and a lot of guys were leering at her. I explained that they think you are easy if you dress in revealing clothes. Those girls are popular but for the wrong reasons. She never wore that shirt again.

This is possibly why Topix isn't doing anything. If you ignore them and do not retaliate you will find they leave you alone.

Hollywood needs to stop with this suggestive sexual crap all over the TV and Movies. This stuff is making kids extremely curious and horny, and causing them to engage in all kinds of sexual experimentation!
