A great actor, extraordinary and generous man.

It was a joy to see him in the pits at Daytona.

RIP.

I will have Newman's Cranberry Walnut dressing on my salad today as a lame tribute. As a better tribute, I might go rob a bank, or enter a hard-boiled egg eating contest.

God Speed Paul Newman... Smoking killed 4 members of my family. I was with my father when he died at home. Let me tell you all. It was horrible. First he got real skinny and could not eat anything. Then he was bed ridden because he was too weak to walk. He slipped in a coma when the cancer went into his brain. I watch him take his last breath. His weight was 185 lbs before he died. After he died his weight was 130 lbs. All you people who smoke do not know how horrible you will die until it's too late. Please visit Hope Hospice and watch someone die from cancer. I don't think you will smoke anymore. My heart goes out to the Newman Family. May Paul rest in peace.

RIP Mr. Newman. You had the right outlook on life!

Even in this world of political adversity, where I did not agree with his politics, I could do so with no feeling of anger - because he represented himself and his beliefs with grace. He put his money and his heart where his mouth is, rather than his *ss where his mouth is. That is a hard thing to do in his world, and the respect for this man was tremendous. If we could all (both parties) learn from his grace, it would be a better world.
