I went to see "The Who" back in the late 70's at the Myriad in OKC. It was so much fun, the music was great and getting stoned and no one bothered you. Now everyone takes drugs to another level. What a shame. My first concert was the Carpenters. Too bad Karen passed away. Now that I am old and do not get stoned and really do not like to be around large crowds, I won't be going to any concerts. A few years ago I saw Melissa Etheridge and believe me she gave an awesome performance. She played alot of blues. Wish we had some good blues bands. If people just sat in their seats I might go to a concert. Yes I am old..LOL. I miss the old days.

So far the only two concerts that have been booked that will do well in Tulsa is Rascal Flatts and Kenny Chesney. Both these concerts are under $70 a ticket.
Niel Diamond and Celine Dion will be much like the Michael Bolton concert at the Maybee Center where few came. Obviously they will draw more than Bolton did that night but not near enough to support a venue at the BOK Center.
I agree with Skynyrd and Aerosmith would be another good choice. Steven Tyler of Aerosmith has a home in Tulsa so I'm sure he would enjoy the opportunity to play here for his family.
...and who the heck is Celtic Thunder?

I saw The Who in Minneapolis during that time and they were awesome. I remember paying $20 a ticket for that concert, which was over twice as much as any other concert at that time.
I saw a bunch of concerts back in those days and the one that will always be my favorite was seeing Jimi Hendrix in Tulsa.

I would love to see Skynard as well, and Aerosmith would be the bomb. Love you Stevie Tyler!!!

This thread has been up for two months and only has 28 posts. Probably a pretty good reflection of just how many people in Tulsa are going to show up to see this old timer.

There are more scalpers in Tulsa at the Arena than there were in the Osage nation.

So I guess what you are saying is that King Errison, his congo drum player who has dark skin, is in his band so he can hate him up close. Or the reason he had Stevie Wonder on his TV special was to sing a hateful duet with him.

Tom Jones opening for Neil Diamond could be like Tony Christie opening for Neil Sedaka
