This movie was a letdown, it isolates the affluent of society as more interesting subjects as victims of catastrophes than the general population. I won't belabor the class distinction I noticed during the viewing of this film, but it was noticeable. Also character development was poor, and a perpetual scene of tears, hugs and kisses became redundant after about the first thirty minutes.
The protagonist of this movie is Lucas the eldest of the three sons and who has an unrealistically precocious personality. After viewing this movie my mind kept going back to the movie "The Towering Inferno", and "The Impossible", is basically The Towering Inferno", with advanced special effects. This movie would have been much better if it would have centered around several families and other individuals (lets say some who were single) and then interwoven all the stories together and then demonstrated how the Tsunami effected them both on a personal and collective level.
