In 1967, Mark Roland, the assistant superintendent of the Northport-East Northport School District, surprised faculty by holding part of a teachers' conference in a theater and showing them "The Graduate." The teachers were even more shocked that the guest speaker was the movie's star, Dustin Hoffman .

I had him for 7th grade homeroom, English and SS at Northport Jr Hi.
