If you're from Lowell you should at least take a little positive from the Movie and story! Not much has been good coming out of Lowell the last few years.

Lowell should have a Red Carpet event at the local Lowell cinema, Like they did for Titanic back in the 90's
This is a big deal for the city.
Just DONT invite, the former city manager, Princess Fiona of the CVB, And Ma Parker Mercier. They will treat it as their own Hollywood debut.
For all their Lowell Goodfella friends.
Why ask Why

Enough, enough..I'm tired of hearing about High on Crack St. Move on, that documentary was over 15 years ago and people like you continue to bring it up. There's plenty of other things that Lowell is recognized for aside from that documentary. You should be a shamed of yourself. Grow up!

As someone who was at the showing last night all I can tell you is that it will take Lowell years and millions of dollars to counteract the negative image the city will get from this movie. Everything the city has done to market itself for the past 10 years will be gone for every person who sees this film. Who was the idiot that allowed this film to be made (I mean you Deb Belanger). We can only hope that it a huge flop at the box office and disappears within a few days of release otherwise Lowell will become a shrine to druggies and low lifes who will come to worship (with no money).

You must be a huge boxing fan, if you've never heard of Micky Ward.

My daughter was sitting at ring side during the filming, I can't wait to see her. Isn't great that a city official and policeman are in the movie too! They should have had other city officals in the movie too, like at the refresment counter during the fight scene.

In the movie, Eklund is being followed around by an HBO film crew for what he thinks is a documentary on his career and his big comeback. In reality, the crew is filming High on Crack Street: Lost Lives in Lowell, about drug addiction in the city.

Eklund thought the HBO film crew was following him around for a comeback?......Really? I think not, he was well aware they where there to do a story on crack! Once again the "Sun ain't so hot"
