Um, it's my understanding that Dickie only threw a bag of ice on his nuts (which is done to bring someone back from unconciousness in boxing), he didn't actually punch the guy. you believe that one? If so, the cops bought it too...and instead nailed Dickie's nephew for it.

IT's amazing that one (Dickie) can be a cancer to the city, yet get away with murder...literally.

How could they make this movie without including any Gatti references? If it wasn't for the Gatti triology Ward wouldn't be known outside of Lowell.

It's a crock. Dickie did it. You don't try to use ice to wake a guy up after you cave in the back of his skull...even a crachead ex boxer would know that.

I didn't know Dickie fought back from drugs and crime, at least reading the Police blotter you'd get a different story.

I thought this went up to the first Gatti fight? I'm not sure though.

Dickie Eklund has done more for Lowell than anyone else in history. 'Nuff said.

I think this movie is going to make the city of Lowell, it's residents and police department look really awful. This city has fought back just as much as Mickey Ward but on the big screen we are going to be known as a city of degeneretes and losers.

Way to go!

Good Point. I always enjoyed Micky's fights.I saw him live fighting at the Auditorium/ESPN/PPV and way back on the Closed Circuit Cards! He brought it hard to anyone who stepped in the Ring with him. When Mick fought on Friday Night Fights it was a EVENT!!! Lowell Loves him. Best Of Luck Micky! Thanks for giving it you best.

Movie will be well received....Then they will make more movies about the Gatti Trilogy. It will be like another Rocky series, only Fact not Fiction. More pwer to them.

Any smart cinema operator would buy the rights from HBO and stage a double bill:

1- The Fighter 2- High on Crack Street

Yea so Ward/Eklund have a crooked history just like every other kid who grew up in Lowell. Tell us something we don't know. However, I find the stories about them to be entertaining and interesting. This movie was a great idea and I'm excited to see them on the big screen!!!!!
