I disagree with the Producer and directors notion that "You need to see this with other people, where you can yell and scream"...

Hogwash....that has mainstream written all over it...and whenever a re make is catored to a young dumb mainstream crowd..then the movie is usually a dud...

The original 'Evil Dead' was totally 'cult'...
Cult at it's gory best, organic horror, born of every young persons nightmares...

Of course today the original movie looks very dated, but if viewed alone, at night, it can still get the imagination stirring...

all horror movies are meant to be viewed alone, if you want full effect of being frightened.

I don't go to horror movies to have fun and laugh with peers, comedy movies yes...horror movies, no...not for purest anyways...

Robert Tapert got it wrong on this one by suggesting the Evil Dead should be some kind of shared outing event where silly dimwitted college kids sit together and scream out loud, as if on some rollercoaster ride...
And is one reason I Stopped going to theaters long ago...
