Yes, it takes no brain t all to come up with a ban on something that isn't a problem in this country. We still have plenty of babies being born regardless of gender.

If pro-"lifers" are so concerned about eliminating sex selective abortions why are they campaigning for legislation in the USA, with a population that shows no bias over girls for boys, as opposed to campaigning in countries like China or India that have some of the most well documented and problematic cases of sex selective abortions?
And how can an American case be made for said law when we have to bring up India or China as a reason? Even the author of the article admits there is no proof of it happening systematically and acknowledges that the majority of Americans are personally against abortion and even more find sex selective abortions unethical. That alone proves we don't need such heavy handed regulation but apparently we are going to have to start making laws based upon what happens in another continent!
Lastly, if such a law was passed, how can it even be enforced? No one is legally bound to truthfully say why they are going to have an abortion. To me, this just sounds like another way to burden health care providers into being private investigators against their patients. Why not just let the physician decide whether a patient has a legitimate reason for an abortion instead of bureaucrats and activists?
The real solution for this problem is to change public perception about women instead of treating the symptoms of sexism. That is the real no brainer.
