billy mitchell --a hero, or self serving?

Mitchell, had the best insight on the effects of aviation on the future of warfare--he also anticipated the future explosion of aviation in the privite sector. Mitchell was correct in his criticisms of the military aviation mindset. He also had enamored himself as a non team player overwheled with a constant ego center stage mania. The result, his peers did not trust him, gave him no credibilty. Mitchell had thought this out and had made the decision to make a high altitude entry into the media with a high explosive bomb. Why? Mitchell knew his military career could not go on in the present tense, enduring complacency he would become like them.
Mitchell, elected his exit, made history, and went on to the privae sector.
