I have to admit that I recognized the name before the face. But this is a shame. What a waste. Too young to die.

First Jonathan Brandis, now Brad Renfro. How many more of the boys whose posters hung in my room in junior high are going to be found dead?

It's really a shame for this young man's talent to have been wasted. Too darned young to die. I thought he was a tremendously talented actor in "the Client. "

When will we learn that incarceration for alcohol and drug abuse is a crime. It only worsens the difficulty in the neural structure of the brain.Treatment and/or hospitalization is the treatment.

How and why do we punish people for attempting to self medicate?

I used to drink socially, never mixing work and pleasure. Then one day I quit. I later realized that was the BEGINNING of my breakdown. It no longer interested me.

I will have the occasional drink now, perhaps twice a year.

Why? I have no idea. We have become a society crazed with "subsatnce abuse" and any chuck hole induced road boble brings out the law and the beligerent questions. In a million miles of driving I have have had one fender bender and no citations.

Law enforcement is to protect society not to punish harnless deviance.

When will we learn this?

Drugs, alcohol, yawn. But what stopped me was -- his attempted theft of a yacht? Yeah, I'd say this boy was out of his mind.

Addiction sucks. Unfortunately he probably had people around him who were just "yes men" and didn't really help him. He wanted to work on his sobriety but was out drinking the night before? An addiction cannot use - even alcohol - socially. Sorry about his death. We make our own choices to use.

Who? Never heard of him. Not to be cruel, but why all the attention on wanna-be actors and actresses who abuse their bodies and their lives? I'm so sick of hearing about these losers.

What did he really contribute to society? I cant stand that people talk about how sad *this* death is cause the guy was an actor, yet when young people die every day whether it be drugs or hit by a drunk driver they could not care less.

Addiction is a disease! How dare you call someone who is trying to do the right thing "dumb".

The only dumb people are those that judge others without any knowledge of their lives!!!

You know that is what happens when you are a burnout.

I don't have too much sympathy for burnouts.
