I Will Always Love You

Feb 13, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Patch.com

If I close my eyes, I can hear the music. I can almost feel as if I'm driving up to college in my used 1981 white-and-turquoise Buick Regal, cassette tape blaring, and me singing along at the top of my lungsa€¦ "Ooooh, I wanna dance with somebodya€¦" Circa late '80s, sugar-sweet pop songs and soulful, sweeping love ballads.

And your point? Dolly made a heap of money off the royalties and praised Whitney's rendition and said she could never do it proud like Whitney did!

You folks are amazing. Can't sing, aren't famous, aren't rich, but always biting out the success and accompliments of other whites. Dolly wouldn't let you walk her dogs!

Same for you. Whitney wouldn't party with you or look at you, unless maybe you provided the crack. But once she smoked it up, you'd be kicked out the hotel room

That's your problem, isn't it white trash? Jealous because she had a life you could only dream of and the fact of the matter is that neither Whitney nor Dolly can abide white trash. Bringing crack or fried twinkies wouldn't help you at all. White trash is the lowest thing you can be in this country. There is no excuse for it. So, trash like you sit around on your lazy arses grousing and hating on people.

I am not God, but it's sad that good people die and trash like you are allowed to continue breathing and living on this earth when you offer nothing good at all. Only hatred and malice. A total waste of space.

Just because someone writes a song doesn't mean someone else can't do it better this song "I will always love you" by Whitney could be the best vocal of all time.
That type is always trying to take credit by osmosis, lol. They know they're incapable of doing anything of substance so they bite off of more successful whites as if it includes them. What a joke they are. Nothing better to do. Losers. As if Dolly Parton cared what they said and would agree with the trash. It's a whole nother life for her and escaping trash like them is something I know she's happy to have done, lol.

Still LOL at the hippocrate saying that Parton wrote "I will always love you" for Burt Reynolds.

"I Will Always Love you" was written by country superstar Dolly Parton on June 6, 1974, as the second single from Parton's 13th solo studio album, Jolene. That's right, by 1974, Dolly Parton had already released 13 albums. And it may interest fans of the song to know that while "I Will Always Love You" is most certainly a love song, it's not really about the deeply passionate parting of two lovers that was conveyed in Houston's cover; the song is about Parton's professional parting of ways with her onetime partner and longtime mentor Porter Wagner.

The song went all the way to #1 on the country charts, and along with "Jolene," arguably one of Parton's finest songs, propelled her out of Wagner's shadow and onto the country A-list in her own right.

The song brought Parton a fan in the unlikely form of rock god Elvis Presley, who expressed interest in recording a cover version of the tune. This, of course, delighted Parton.

There was a catch, however: Elvis' formidable manager, Tom Parker, insisted that she sign over 50 percent of the publishing royalties to Presley. That was a problem for Parton, who had a policy against signing away her publishing rights — no matter how big the star wanting to record her track.

"He was planning to record my song,'I Will Always Love You.' He invited me down to the studio, and the day of the studio, Colonel Tom Parker called and said that they only recorded songs that they had the publishing on, and I couldn't do that," Parton told David Letterman in 2010. "That broke my heart, because I loved Elvis.

"I cried all night. Other people were saying,'You're nuts. It's Elvis Presley. I mean, hell, I'd give him all of it,' " Parton said. "I said,'I can't do that. Something in my heart says don't do that.' And I just didn't do it, and they didn't do it."

Parton re-recorded the song herself in 1982 and included it on the soundtrack to her film "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." It again went to #1 on the country charts, making Parton the first artist ever to earn a #1 record twice with the same song as a singer."

Fried twinkies? Parrot much, hippocrate?

So do tell, was Elvis a "cave dwelling, raw meat eating, etc etc." because he liked Parton's version. Or am I missing something? Hate to tell you but Elvis by far would have made far more money that Whitney could ever have dreamed of. Parton is wealthy in her own right and Whitney recording that was but a drop in the bucket due to her not signing over the royalties as was the case w/Elvis.

Now let's see that link to confirm your facts in that you stated that only a mindless twit would not know that Parton wrote that song for Burt Reynolds, hippocrate.

Perhaps, you simply don't grasp Dolly's gracious manner.

The song came in at #1 twice and as recorded by Parton. Parton is a legend or perhaps, you haven't quite grasped that yet, hippocrate, and Elvis in case you haven't noted is by far an icon who eclipses even Parton.

Pontificating and spamming this thread with your nasty, cave dwelling, raw eating meating selves. Wolves howling in the woods is what you beast call good music.

(Yep and all these nasty, cave dwelling, raw eating meating folks call wolves howling in the woods good music as well...

"This is not a love song in the conventional sense; Parton wrote it for a close friend. In 1967, she was invited by Country star Porter Wagoner to co-host his TV show, where they became famous for their duets. In time though, her enormous talent eclipsed that of her mentor, and she moved on to greener pastures. She wrote the song for him to show her appreciation for the time they had worked together.(thanks, Alexander Baron - London, England)

Parton later recorded a second version of this song for the 1982 film The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, which she starred in along with Burt Reynolds. The second version not only became a #1 Country hit (like the first version), but also became a crossover hit, reaching #53 on the pop charts.

Aisling what is your point dear? Can you cclarify it for me.
Everyone knows Dolly wrote and sang the song. Whitney covered the song and made it more famous and Dolly was paid. Dolly said she loved Whitney's version and praised her for it. Why then are you hating on Mrs Houston when Dolly did not?

I wish Ms. Houston could have lived a long life. I wish that if it was time for to go home, she and her family could have done this in peace. I am extremely irritated by the cruel and racist remarks and jokes given by really stupid people. So called tv doctors. And so many empty headed radio jocks. Whose stations more than likely never played her songs. And tv reporters. They all want to put in their 1/2 cents. These people remind me of a pack of wild animals tearing at a piece of meat. Attention you animals walking on two legs, ever heard, "If you can't say something positive, shut up". Guess these people can't carry a tune in that bucket they use for a toilet.

She's hating on her because she's a neurotic cu#t. She's also a hypocrite and white trash, that's why she's hating. Making up husbands, staying up all night in a meth induced stupor spamming threads with her nonsense. Look at the hateful maryland farmers posting bs about the dead but want you to think they're superior and special.

Turds floating in a toliet have more class than lowlifes like her and her racist crew.

Silly beeacth is jealous, poor, fat and stupid. I told her yesterday when she was trying to gain attention for her self-absorbed self to go fk herself cause no one else will, the pig.
