"The Amityville Horror" was the first scary movie I was allowed to watch, and it scared me so bad!! Even now I get the shivers when I see houses that look like that, and my eyes are always drawn up to those quarter-moon windows. I'm half-afraid they'll glow red!! I would NOT buy that house, even for a buck!!

Sheesh. Come on, folks. Many of the people named in Jay Anson's silly book have come forward to say that the events they were described as being part of or witness to never happened. Anson himself has admitted that the story is not true. George Lutz bought a money pit, realized he'd bitten off more than he could chew financially, and tried to recoup his losses by concocting an outrageous story - which gullible people bought hook line and sinker.

No one who's lived in the house since the Lutzes has reported anything at all unusual. There are no ghosts, no demons, no "malevolent spirits", not now, not ever. Time to come out of the Dark Ages and join the 21st century.

who the hell would buy that house on an ancient indian burial ground that some english settlers killed to get a plot of land for themselves. Plus did you not see the lutizes story back in the seventies or the movie at all. that hosue is curse with a capital C even if you give a 100 grand I would not buy that house at all from anyone
