Off all things, I was shocked to find out Chris Reeve died from a bed sore. That could have and should have been prevented.
You have to wonder what the underlying message is to all of this. He was and will always be the real Superman, before and after his accident.
But, the real Superman was a mortal man, obviously. Are we all capable of being real Super(men) in our daily lives, overcoming obstacles? Or is it just a harsh reality that the idea of a Super(man) is nothing more than our escape from our mortality? Whatever the reason, we live and we die, and there's nothing that can be done about it.

I cannot believe that the high-tech, expensive machine that spun a comatose Superman around FAILED. I am gutted.
