Yeah, no telling where this is gonna go. I think I like Cornell and Grohl, but a fresh unknown without any preconceptions and history might be the way to go. Somebody with lots of demos of his own music to check for compatibility just in case this leads to the studio and stage presence and chemistry.

This is fantastic.

i think i like the cornell suggestion. i also thought of mark lannegan, because i think hes a great talent and seems to have some very similar musical interest as plant. I am also still hoping for plant to finally come back to earth (or at least this part of the galaxy) and get busy with his band(the full time, hall of fame one) on a new album ; )

guys
the latest news from over the pond here is that faced with the almost certain eventuality of a tour with or without him, Percy has dropped off his perch and announce he is in.
The news has been reported in a national tabloid so who knows but a separate report also staates that Jason Bonham has put his home on the market because he will be spending a long time on the road in 2009.
Mmm me thinks it is going to come together. Roll on 2009!
My dream venue would be a US trip to the Forum in May or June, perhaps slumming it at the Chateux Marmont but then I see there are no banks anymore to take the money from. another UK Bank bit the dust this morning.

More of the same about Plant getting his ego hurt and wanting to sing for Zep in the tour; I guess Page and the boys new exactly how to get to him.

Yes, i can only second mr page's comment of "hope it happens". as for the bank thing tizzer, looks like the US senate has agreed to a bailout plan, that will dump several billion dollars into the problem. hope it staves off the bank collapse.maybe an official tour announcement from zep will help the world economy lol.

I guess the bail out plan is about as fickle as Plant singing for zep... you never know what's next ... gotta plan... rejected... gotta plan... rejected.

Plant should go to work for the house of rep.

im sure a lot of people would, lucky, which is kind of what i thought they should be doing anyway. i know that its late in the day and theres a lot of water under the bridge, god dont i know it, but im hoping they(page jones, bonham jr.) can find the energy to put it together for another run. i want to hear the stuff they never got out. maybe plant is the one with the vision. maybe led zeppelins music needs somone younger, and hungrier to express it. thats who they should be looking for.

ALL I CAN SAY IS IF THEY REPLACE PLANT I WON'T PAY ONE RED CENT TO SEE THAT ! YOU CAN'T REPLACE HIM. WHAT A JOKE THAT WOULD BE. ALMOST AS BAD AS THE DOORS A FEW YEARS AGO DRESSING IAN ASBURY UP TO LOOK LIKE JIM MORRISON AND GOING ON TOUR. THAT WAS PATHETIC. MIGHT AS WELL REPLACE JIMMY WHILE YOU ARE AT IT. WHAT A JOKE...

Now see I guess your just one of those people who love Bobby Boy's so much that it just wouldn't be zep for you if he wasn't there and I can respect that... but I could care less anymore if he's not there.

The man doesn't want the gig anymore... so get somebody else... that's what I say. Life's too short to wait for his dumbass to change his mind; they've been waiting for three long decades.

Me personally, if I can get closer than a nose bleed I can promise you that I'm gonna be far left of center stage anyway; and even then with the help of synthesized PA systems I won't give a damn if can I hear one song that Rob sings.

As long as I can see/hear Page play his guitar and hear JPJs bass coming through loud and clear I'm as good as gold.

And I would pay plenty for that...

"all i can say" is ill be happy to your two red cents, and 3 more. I think it could be the best and most exciting thing to happen in rock music since u2 was still giving great performances in the 80's. no even better than that. and you cant say it will" be as bad as the doors thing". the doors thing is not led zeppelin. the DOORS were jim morrison. period. No matter how much all of you robert plant groupies try to make him out to be a jim morrison, hes just not that important. so stay home. or go and get your rober and alison tote bag at one of those T-bone church revival concerts (in "at least" 2 years) no one will miss you.

Hey guys, it seems to now(yeah im a little slow) that the ONLY reason plant did the 02 show was to gin up excitement for his crappy "pounding sand"
album. Yeah some people seemd to like it and wasnt the WORST thing hes ever done but still. Does anyone think it would have gotten more than passing attention but for all the buzz around Zeppelin. He not only has spent the last year mocking, belliteling, ridiculing and laughing at led zeppelin(to say nothing of the fans of course), and all the while using them. someone hard needs to get hold of page and shake him, and say, scrape that piece of shit off man!
