I attended a UCLA extension class on Spanish Slang with Ron in the 1970s at the same time he had a mindless part on the sitcom Rhoda. I found him to be very curious about the world around him and determined to improve, if not master the kind of Spanish you wouldn't find in text books. I believe he also spoke some Mandarin and spent some time in Taiwan. He also did some theatre work in L.A. before returning to his home base in NY.
