I'm happy to hear of this project. Jamie stated that he was interested in doing more action movies after his experience filming DEFIANCE with Daniel Craig. Who would have thought they'd be reteaming? Okay, probably a lot of people.
there was a rumor, a few years ago, that Stephen Daldry was to direct Jamie in a film about Tintin, which turned out not to be true. Jamie said he wouldn't have minded but that it simply was not true. He was still a teen, so he might have been a bit young for the role, anyway, but how cool is it that he.s getting this great opportunity now!
I have never read any of Herge's Tintin books but I have my first six library reservations for them in place now. If you look for them, the 24 books are in print. They are really graphic novels and I think all of the comic book shops in New York have them. The final book, I understand, published after Herge's death, was never fully completed, so the hero Tintin is left in a sort of unresolved cliffhanger.

I've read 14, so far, of the 24 Tintin graphic novels. They're a lot of fun! If you enjoy the old style type of comic strip adventures like the original Orphan Annie and Terry and the Pirates, you'll love the books!
There will be some revisions to the original Unicorn story. New characters and such. Andy Serkus (who was also in KING KONG and DEATHWATCH) will play the delightful and hilarious Captain Haddock. Should be fun.

I'm awaiting my holding copy of Tintin in America fron the New York Public Library. This will be the 16th Tintin volume I'll be reading and the final available at the library. Perhaps the Queens Library has the remaining 8 or I'll just have to buy them.
I don't know how large Daniel Craig's role will be in the film. Red makes only a brief flashback appearance in one of the books. Perhaps they'll expand the role for the film. I know they've already added additional characters. I hope it's not overdone. Leave us not forget the film version of JUMPER. It bore some resemblance to the book but not a heck of a lot. I see no word, so far, that Jamie will do a sequel. Anyone?
