Johnny is not saying that he thinks he is ugly. For most of his life, he has been a product of Hollywood. So it shys him away from his own image, and that is understandable. Imagine looking through a rack of magazines, and finding your face on the cover of every teen issue. Or find billboards everywhere with a photo of you holding a gun. I cannot remember the exact wording, but the phrase said something like; "Most kids pack a lunch". It was an ad for "21 Jump Street". JD and a friend climbed up there and painted over his face, because he did not like it (I wouldn't either!). For someone like Johnny, who has never been all about his looks, that would be disturbing. He does not want to be represented that way, and feels that they have taken away some of the control he has over his life. He wants people to admire and remember him for what he has done, and what he is still doing. Not for his pretty face. People need to look past his external beauty, and see him for who is truly is. This is why I get upset when folks only refer to him as "HOTTTTTTT"..they blind themselves to his beautiful soul and amazing talents. He is truly humble~Peace

Welcome, DeppFan. The more the merrier.

It always irks me a little to see Johnny herded into the 50 Hunkiest Heartthrobs type category (although I'd be mad if he was left out-- go figure). He has more talent, depth, soul, humor, mystery, integrity, and innate decency than any other actor I can think of. The looks are just icing on the cake(albeit a double fudge icing-- mixed with rum, of course).

I've read in many places, imdb included, that Pirates 4 is shot for sometime in 2012. Along with that info, it is also rumored in many places that it's already in production. Johnny and Geoffery Rush have also signed on once again to continue the series. So, if luck is on our side, everything will go through and Pirates 4 will be out in just a few years :]

I completely agree DeppHead! Johnny is a very attractive man, but it bothers me deeply that many of his fans are not his fans for all the right reasons. And I will freely admit that I was attracted to his looks before anything else, but the more I looked into his work and his life personally, I was very blown away and he became all the more attractive to me. He is now one of my idols and I admire him greatly. I can't understand how some people can see an attractive person, and fall madly in love right then and there and not even bother to look any deeper than that. Robert Pattinson from Twilight would have to be an example. He is good looking and I'll admit that, and I'm not trying to bash one actor out of pure dislike to prove my point about another I love. But he is also a bit up there in his own world at the best of times. He really just doesn't have the kind of personality I wish to see in stars who can call themselves teen idols. I believe it's because he's young and rather new to this, but even so I find myself less attracted to him because of it. Johnny is so much more of a humble spirit inside. He sees his fans as his equals, not people less important than he is just because they may not have as much to their names. He's generous, and one of the ideal Hollywood fathers. If so many people merely look at him and say he's their favorite actor just because he looks good in a pirate costume, then that many people aren't seeing what a wonderful man he is on the inside. Just like people hating on Vanessa because Johnny is deeply involved with her. More than three quarters of those people only dislike her because she is with the man they lust after due to his looks. Again I'll say Johnny is a highly attractive man, but there's so much more under the surface, and it hurts me to see that so many people miss it. Ok, I've said what I've got to say, I'll stop preaching now.:]
