Prime Suspect was the best ongoing television series ever made. Helen Mirren, along with the other actors, directors, and writers, made it unique beyond description.

I wish the producers would rethink their decision to end the series, and perhaps have the detective played by Mirren come out of retirement every couple of years to work on a case that no one else can solve.
