How long before the KkK-like comments begin? After, African Americans are in the photograph.

I feel badly for the victims of Katrina, but that's an area that NEVER should have been developed and populated as densely as it was. When the city was being laid-out by the governor hundreds of years ago, his engineers implored him to build on higher ground, but he refused. It's insane that people live in neighborhoods that are next to levies with 20-30 feet of water over them. They'll just flood again. These neighborhoods should be abandoned -- buying these poor people out and putting them on higher ground would be the RIGHT way to spend federal dollars . . .

Why did no one listen to the alarms to leave until it was too late? Reading this makes me believe they all are professional victims. Nice that Mr Smith just abandoned his family and started a new one.

But, really, what's the big deal? If you live in a toilet, sooner or later it's gonna get flushed.

It actually worked out, because there was a mass exodus of multi-generational lifelong welfare recipients to other parts of the country, which helps to boost the cultural diversity of those other areas. And that's a beautiful thing.
