New Orleans is still my home, even though I now live very far away. This weekend there is a documentary film festivail as part of the Common Ground event: http://www.commongroundrelief.org/
One of the films featured will be the locally (New Orleans) produced HD feature "Refuge of Last Resort" - site: http://www.refugeoflastresort.net/
This was the first indie doc to come out of Katrina, released in February of 06. Refuge has the unique advantage of using no stock footage, as the film was made in real time as it happened to the filmmaker and his family. It's really worth a look.
