On DVD: 'Rockford Files' finds right clue

W hy is it that they make movies out of crummy '70s TV series, such as "Starsky and Hutch" and "Charlie's Angels," but not good '70s television series? Yes, there were some --and not only sitcoms. Where, for example, is the movie version of "The Rockford Files"?

For Rockford - John Travolta? Nicholas Cage? Mel Gibson? Naaaah - none of them really fit. Hmmmm could George Clooney pull it off?!?

For Angel - Joe Pantoliano, Joe Pesci?

As for the movie... You could actually use James Garner as Rocky...

Absolutely George Clooney as Jim Rockford. He's about the same age James Garner was when Rockford started...Clooney has the same self-depreciating wit. I can see him pulling this off in a series of films.

And Don Cheadle as Angel.
