Just saw him last night in "The Dirty Dozen." I wish TV Land would put shows like "McHale's Navy" in their schedule. It is all modern shows anymore, including original reality shows.

"Marty" is a wonderful movie, as is "From Here to Eternity." See them, too. TCM runs them occasionally.

TVLand is stupid. I mean, how many Gunsmoke and Bonanza episodes were there? That's all they do on weekends. Or the obscene Roseanne Barr crap. I miss "Leave It To Beaver!"

Thought his best acting was in the film "Flight of the Phoenix" with James Stewart.

Mr. Borgine was also in the original "Willard" and "Escape From New York". He also gave some fine performances in the final season of "ER" I used to enjoy watching the black and white re-runs of "Mchale's Navy" duirng my lunch break years ago.
Borgine had a great supporting cast with the likes of Joe Flynn and Tim Conway and the rest of his crew.
I have known quite a few "Lt. Carpenters" over the years.....
