Should Britney play boozy Blanche in West End?
“Tennessee Williams wrote characters that need extensive development and talent to portray with any sort of depth.”
ITSOUNDS like the perfect role for a Southern belle who has seen better days and is desperate to restore her fortunes. via Daily Express

The Blanche DuBois role is perhaps the most complex female character ever created in the history of American theatre. To consider offering the part to Ms. Spears simply because she has exhibited similarly delusional mental health issues as Blanche is beyond comprehension. It has reprehensible connotations on the part of the London producers who dreamed up this publicity stunt; they clearly are unconcerned about mounting an accurate rendition of Tennessee Williams's finest work as well as a box office disregard for the mental health of Ms. Spears, whose tenuous hold on reality makes her unstable to say the least.
