I don't want to sound negative - but remaking a classic is counterproductive. No one will be able to replace John Simm or Philip Glenister (or Liz White, for that matter!) They are what make the show a classic. A remake is a waste of time. It would be like trying to remake the X-Files with David D.

I agree. I will not watch the remake because I feel they are only cashing in on a good show. I'll take the orginal anyday, and I agree that the remake would a total waste of time. As a true fan of the show and John, I will not waste my time watching the remake. I will wait and watch the orginal when the second series comes on.
