I say ,Jean-Claude, that if the drunk sit down behind the wheel of a car, he risks knock down a person or fall into a ditch, then it is unacceptable in any country and should be in time prevented .To do this, there are legislative measures. By the way, in Russia does not kill for this. We have one of the most liberal legislative system in the world.

This is the part where I start ignoring you again Olympe. You can be so smart and funny and have so much to contribute, but I am seriously offended by your crude behavior. What's more, it's not fair to me (who takes offense) within this context as you are aware that I am captive audience to it. I'm just seriously offended by and not interested in crude.

@Ely, Good they don't kill drunks there. Same here re drunks in terms of risk of danger to others and there are laws here for driving whilst intoxicated or under the influence that are taken seriously, but still happens all the time so I believe they need to come down harder. These people are ticking time bombs driving at all--and they pose risk to lives of others and this should be taken VERY seriously. I think the laws should reflect the seriousness of it. Almost need a special task force just to accommodate the the behaviors of those who drink. Pathetic.

Keeping the discussion on topic, Mel Gibson may have lost his control/composure, but asking a cop if he's Jew just flat out does not qualify as anti-semitic and (if he even actually said it) was clearly drawn out of proportion to accommodate broad hostilities toward Gibson. I admit that I'm partially biased because I have experienced similar hostile behaviors (targeting, bullying) as Gibson has but I also very much can't handle drinking-type-behavior as Gibson has also displayed. It's also apparent that his opposition frequently exaggerates and twists small facts to conform to their distorted conclusions.

I cannot read/study the details in this case because--much like listening to the tapes, or seeing his movies--it is much too disturbing to me. God knows! I never claimed to know everything about the case or about Mel Gibson. Frankly, I don't need to in order to express my opinion. My opinion of him and this case is nevertheless fair and reasonable--based on what information I do have or am privy to. I think Mel is brilliant, etc., but I doubt he comes here or really cares that much about my opinion so it doesn't matter. It's just a forum. I do identify with him and the case because of similar experiences and because we share the same religion. Do I agree with the manner in which Mel spoke to Oksana (what I did observe)? No. But I also don't know the whole story. Do I believe that he has issues? Yes. Who doesn't? Are those issues relevant to the case or any of my business? Possibly/Dunno. Do I believe Oksana targeted him? Yes.

Since when do people on a public forum have to justify themselves to you?!

You have a knack at putting others on the defensive; your behavior is hostile, crude, offensive, and abusive; and you distort things to conform to your own conclusions.

Although you might have felt it, I never claimed "self-importance." By ordinary standards, I am nothing. I am merely blessed with the means to articulate myself well. Your interpreting my vocabulary as meaning self-importance is your issue.

I believe it is best that I do not respond to any more of your posts. I made a bad choice by doing so.
