All this talk about how wonderful Roscoe Village is, and not one word about the old Riverview amusement park?

Just shows that there are no real Chicagoans on the north side anymore. You know all these yuppies are going to move to Schaumburg when their kids reach school age.

You also forgot to mention the $400k house that were tore down to build the new $1.5-3 million home spec homes. The middle class cannot afford to live in RV. The upper middle class have a hard time.

Another reason walking is preferred in Roscoe Village is because parking is a nightmare.

Jim: There is a Web site for people like you who obsess on reminiscing about the long gone Riverview. Consult Google.

Jim, it's hilarious that someone who lives in INDIANA is carping about the type of people who live in RV.

What Jim said is partially true. Most in RV will move to the western or southwest suburbs once their kids reach elementary school. Chicago needs to reconstruct the CPS providing better schools for children, affordable tuition for parents and better pay for teachers if the city wants to retain educated professionals. But of course, this calls for a renaissance of the city - Illinois politics, more specifically Chicago politics, will not make this happen. The potential that Chicago has, and the incompetence that those at the helm of the CPS who cannot grasp the idea of what a solid public school system can do for a city is absolutely pathetic. I understand the CPS will never be perfect, but the progress that can be made if such an idea can be implemented would be amazing.
