I was on this jury and got kicked off. It will be a horrible experience for the remaining jurors. Several questions: why is being tried in Torrance? Why was there so little coverage of the crimes when they happened? I am glad the Breeze is covering it since no one else seems to care.

Did you notice how the defense has covered all the bases on how this guy turned out like he has? Druggie care givers and a head injury as a child? Give me a break. Will the jury figure this out? Give him the death penalty as there is no difference between that or lwop.

THERE ARE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS THE UTMOST DISGUST AND ANGER I FEEL TOWARDS THIS MONSTER THAT COULD HARM A MOTHER AND CHILD. I WOULD LIKE TO BE ALIVE TO WATCH HIM BE EXECUTED. I WONDER IF HE HAS SEXUALLY ABUSED HIS OWN CHILDREN?

Now, I'm not condoning what the guy did, and I'm not defending him, I hope he never sees the light of day again; however, I think the mind function of murders is fascinating, and a head injury (especially in childhood) is actually one of the most common characteristics shared by the most violent murders. Just a bit of info.

There is a common misconception, about that court house. It is actually a county facility and it just happens to be located in the city of Torrance. I wonder why it is being held there too but am glad to see the coverage. That poor little girl!
I do not care if he was abused as a child, hit, raised by druggies or wild animals or God-fearing Bible thumpers.
The suspect is trying to weasel out of it and says "oh I wasn't there" - he knows enough to lie to try to cover what he did, which means he knows it was wrong, which means he should be offered the same mercy he showed his victims - NONE!

it's nice to see that Denise Nix is still obsessed with sex trials and scandals... if she ever files a story that has shred of fairness or objectivity be on the look out for a winter vacation to hades and pigs offering an inflight meal of slop on their new airline...

Not excusing the monster's behavior, but when you invite someone home from a bar, or a liquor store, in a bad neighborhood... What were they thinking?

To "anti yellow journalism":
I searched for the stories Denise Nix did this month on the daily breeze. Here are some of the topics.
Spam e-mailers, a stabbed police dog, a high school trying not to lose its charter, a salvage yard disposing waste unlawfully, a counterfeiting ring, a hit and run accident and a gang shooting. There are other stories related to sex offenses, but given the range of stories I don't see how you can say she's "obsessed" with sex trials and scandals. Unless you consider any story about a person charged with a crime "scandalous".
I'm curious, what cases do you think she should be covering? Also, when was she unobjective or unfair? Can you point me to specific instances?

Denise answered my questions on her blog. I think this is an important case since no one else is covering it such as the LA Times, the Sentinel, TV or radio. I would have not know about if I wasn't on the jury. It is going to be a horrible case with bloody crime scene photos as the victim were butchered and NO ONE would think ANYONE would ever do that. I think this but if it happened in Torrance, all of us would remember it. But since it happened where it did, no one cares. Where is Maxine Waters on this one? Where is the black community outrage?(From what we were told, the crimes were all black on black, not sure why it mattered one victim was blond but I was told they were all black.) Only a few blacks in the jury pool, 2 black men were on when I left. Both had problems with the police including ex-marine. Good luck to them and I hope the Breeze follows it and other media picks the story up.
