I really enjoy this movie, for some of the reasons the writer above pointed out in the directing style of Steve McQueen. The best scene in my opinion is the 'Middle Panel' where Sands meets with the Priest. The scene opens with both men choosing to smoke. The smoke that fills the room and the camera's field as it winds around the room from the puffs that tumble out of both men's mouths and noses as they talk and listen to each other is just crazy. It takes courage to record this activity, and the movie is very patient as it transpires on the screen. This is art. But not my words. They lack.
